On wishlist for admiral... Seakeeper

Neat stuff. There is a video of it at work on a boat. I believe the cost of he unit alone is like $10K. Then finding somewhere to mount it. Then from my naive engineer skepticisms...

The thing spins at 10,000 rpms, must sound like a jet at take off depending on how close you are to it. The stresses on the stringer system must be wonderful after several years of the gyro doing its thing...

Works well though from the video I saw and really made the flybridge sport fisher it was on look a lot more comfortable...

Cost I heard was $65K! :wow: Can you imagine the stresses the bearings are under! :wow:

I found one article that said "The Seakeeper Gyro is available for US$55, 000 plus installation." So the $65K figure would not be far off at all!!!!!!!!

Whoa don't know what I was thinking with $10K!!!!! I think the RPM was close to that number... They are made in Annapolis, they look pretty salty so I am sure they can handle it... Now whether the boat can that is another story!!!!
