On the job: what would happen to you if?

What would happen to you if after 9 months on your new job you kept using excuses like: "It was was worse than we thought", "I inherited a mess" ?

Today on the news (I think it was the news, yes it was ABC), I heard the Obama Administration was making excuses saying Afganistan was worse than than they tought. Give me a break, why didn't you say this 9 months ago? Possibly screwed it up since then? or the situation has gotten worse?

If I did this I would be fired! Probably the minute the words came out of my mouth.

I don't know where to begin with this guy. He refused to meet with the Dali Lama in order to appease the communists. He reduces pay of private employees in private companies. He can't make a decsion to support his own generals in the field. He refuses to use American power to American advantage with Iran, appologizing for our past use of power for good purposes. Before his first four years is past, I'm gonna need medication.
