Omicron

Same in the metro Detroit area. Beaumont, Henry Ford, U of M are filled and limiting or canceling elective surgeries. Depending on the hospital, the percentage of unvaccinated taking up beds is 70 to 85%. That has to say something. Less than 30% of the population (unvaccinated) are contributing 70+% of those in the hospital. Michigan is averaging 5,000 to 7,000 new cases a day right now.
There is always a segment of the population whose ignorance is stunning. I recently read about a physician in Germany who has concocted a home brew vaccine for Covid. He has people lining up to get vaccinated because they do not trust Moderna and Pfizer to deliver a safe and effective vaccine. Colleagues on the firing line tell me stories repeated to them almost daily, about folks filled with remorse because they failed to take the advice to get a vaccination. The suspicion over vaccines is probably not new, but I was too young to understand it during the polio epidemic. I do remember feeling a sense of relief when I was able to get the shots. Most young children feared getting polio back in the day. Every generation has some people who learn the hard way.

If Covid and Variants is the worst thing that happens we have it made in my opinion
Geez there 330,000,000 million people on this piece of real estate.
Oh, I also assume its here to stay.

@sbw1 the same people who've been caught lying for years said two jabs would cover you. Then a booster. Now it's two boosters. An ignorant person would believe that bullshit.

I've had every vax aside from the covid jab. If it was on the up and up, you wouldn't need booster after booster after booster and they wouldn't be locking up the data for 50+ years, but you'll be dead long before then so what's it matter.

Our neighbors (fully vaxxed) have had covid 3 times between the husband and wife - since getting vaxxed. How's that working out?

Just be sure to get your vax stamp card so you can get your freebie after the 10th jab!

What treatment did you get for strep and pneumonia?

My son was prone to getting strep every so often a few years ago. They never gave him anything, and said to let it run its course. So there’s your example.

Funny thing is, last time I was sick (3 years ago) was with strep. Can't recall the last time I was sick before then (haven't used a sick day in 10+ years - and not because I'd work sick). I hadn't seen much about covid + strep, but they are seeing it a lot.

My biggest symptom was a horribly sore throat (which my wife didn't have). In under a week of getting sick, she was well enough to cook a full Thanksgiving dinner.

She often gets sick and I never get it, so naturally I thought nothing of it. A week after she was better is when I got bad.

At that point, we had both been on ivermectin, a z pack and a strong vitamin c, d, zinc, quercetin regimen - after she tested positive. When my pulse ox got low and I was diagnosed with pneumonia, they added doxycycline and methylprednisolone. At that point she was already back at work but then took a few days to stay home with me. Funny how we both caught it from the symptom free 4yr old... but it didn't get us at the same time...

So you still got it after taking those meds?
And what did they give you for strep?

Keep on believing that. Vax rates are higher than ever yet the hospitals are still "full". No one I know has quit from being "overworked". Look at worldwide data. Plenty of vaxxed in the hospital.

I had covid / strep -> pneumonia and didn't take up room in the hospital. It's amazing what effective treatments and monitoring your pulse ox can do...
My sister in law retired early (nurse for over 25 years). She had enough.
Michigan has brought in army medical personnel to help with the overload of patients. They've also brought in extra ventilators. Oh, 90% of patients on ventilators are unvaccinated.
You are obviously superhuman and don't need a thing and are completely self healing. That's great. I'm happy for you.....

I took those meds after getting ill. I was able to get ivermectin and hcq both months ago, to have on hand if we needed it, but didn't see a need to take it before hand like many do. We had already bought vitamins and the pulse oximeter over a year ago.

That saved two or three days between waiting for our telehealth visits and getting the script filled.

For the strep - a z pack. When I had it three years ago, I learned I had become allergic to penicillin. That was fun!

For my wife, I'd say it was the like flu, less than seven days from onset of symptoms to fully recovered. Hindsight being 20/20, I should have slept in the recliner a day or two, but literally felt like strep throat and a fever. And the entire time she was sick, I was up on my feet, just with the sore throat. For whatever reason after she recovered, I got worse. Crazy how differently it will effect people....as it had the opposite effect on us than we'd have guessed. I can count many times she's been sick as a dog and I wouldn't get a sniffle.

And I had been exposed many times over the past two years I'm sure. But leave it to a kid to bring it home!

Strep is bacterial and not viral. Penicillin of some sort is usually prescribed.

So you took ivermectin and it got worse. Based on your own evidence. Ivermectin is not effective.

Must be a different world across that state line. We see and talk with many doctors and nurses at mass every week, not one is "worn out". Is your governor doing something different up there?

I've said it many times, it needs to be TREATED before you end up in the hospital. Once you're bad enough to need a vent, it typically ends one way.

Monday we got a call from my wife's aunt. She had two friends who tested positive, no treatment and waited to long to go to the ER, then died. That is what I have issue with. The lack of "treatment" most get until it's much too late.

Hell, guys I've been talking covid BS with for over a year now, hadn't bought a pulse oximeter or anything you'd need to treat it....blew my mind.

If you want to play that game, what's my fully vaxxed neighbors testing positive three times mean for the vax? o_O

But nope, the covid got better. My wife recovered in 5 days. And aside from the fever / sore throat, I was fine. For whatever reason, I got pneumonia a full week after she was back to normal...and my fever about gone and z pack done. I never took a covid test, so not 100% I had covid. I've never had pneumonia either though, so there's that.

Not sure how long it normally lasts, but since I was down 10 days between it all - I'd say it did good...

Unless you're allergic to penicillin...

But thanks to all this telehealth BS....all my visits were virtual.

Means your theory of natural immunity is also dead.
Also according to your own accord ivermectin and your concoction is worthless.

Please, enlighten me oh wise @jmauld, considering I just beat covid, strep and pneumonia. Aside from MABs, what treatments will most Drs prescribe before you're on your death bed (unless you have a Dr that says F the NIH and CDC approved treatment methods)....enlighten me will you....

The go to is still nothing. Go home, treat your fever, see us if you get worse. Then it's remdesivir and a vent....
I thought u never got covid?

Don't forget Fauci saying... 1) get vaccinated and you don't have to wear a mask 2) get vaccinated and you won't get COVID 3) get vaccinated and you can't spread COVID

I'm not anti-vax, I'm anti-mandate. The federal gov't has over-stepped it's bounds and federal judges have ruled on that already. I was 'forced' to get the vax against my will. Yeah, yeah, we all had a choice, but my choice was to end my career or get vaxxed. My career would have literally been over and I'm not in a financial position at 52 years old to start over at the bottom. My wife is not vaxxed. 3 or my 4 kids are not vaxxed (one was forced due to his job). Me and my wife have both had COVID before I was vaxxed. My oldest had COVID about a month ago. His wife had it earlier this year and she was worried about it because she has an immune issue that she takes medication for. All of us only had what amounted to less than a common cold. My son's wife is 4 months pregnant. She works from home but her employer is forcing her to get vaxxed. She was able to get an exemption but plans to get the vax after the baby is born. It's bad enough that they are forcing people to get it but going so far as to force pregnant women?

Oh, and I know several that have been vaxxed that have been hospitalized after getting COVID. In fact, I probably know more vaxxed people that were hospitalized than unvaxxed that were hospitalized.

Hard to beat first hand knowledge boys...

How so? My wife beat it in 5 days, I beat it in 10 (including pneumonia)....seems pretty damn good to me (didn't take it until we were ill)... especially since my mother was in the hospital with pneumonia a few years ago... for over a week! Might want to do some research on Dr Zelenko for when you get it again... your chances will likely go up with every booster you take! Or hey, take the NIH approved treatment (nothing)...

Again, @jmauld, how did you treat it when you had it? Why won't you tell us what you were prescribed?

I thought u never got covid?

@Dani-Lu I must have missed where you need to post on CSR when you get it. I haven't been back to work yet, what's that tell you o_O.

What's BS @boatman37 is all the mandates are on hold now. Hope you can sue someone...
