PS: No Offence Intended either BTW
If only we could harness the power of Omicron to fuel our boats. We need an Omicron alchemist.:)

Thanks a lot, Carp, for bringing this back to the forefront (sarcasm intended, insert smiley face here...). Even though I had bowed out of that thread some time ago, I went back just now and looked at the last couple of pages. Man, there's some angry people there! I just hope that, as a group of fellow Sea Ray owners, we can hold on until the Spring Thaw brings us all back together, talking about boats. Until then, to borrow from @kevin27;

It is actually a serious and interesting topic these days, I just thought a reset was in order to perhaps cut through some of the static:)
Cheers

New Ontario restrictions back on for 21 days. Here are some of the restrictions. At least they are allowing a novel form of business for the strip clubs LOL.

Restaurants, bars and other food or drink establishments, including those with dance floors (such as nightclubs) and strip clubs must operate under the following conditions:
  • indoor service closed
  • take out, drive through and delivery allowed
  • outdoor areas open with restrictions including, but not limited to:
    • no more than 10 people per table
    • patrons must remain seated
    • no dancing or singing
    • active screening
    • limited hours for the sale, service and consumption of liquor

THAT’S no longer a strip club…. :)

I would lose my mind in Canada…. How do you guys put up with this bullshit?

It’s been a while …I use to stay up near Pearson on my way out of Ontario and would get in all kinds of trouble at the Landing strip…. Is that strip joint still around?

And yes...it is.

I have no idea. I haven't been there in at least 25 years. Not many strip clubs left. The downtown Yonge street ones are long gone. There is one near where I play hockey, but my group doesn't go there. Its a real dump, owned by bikers. Maybe I am getting old, but the idea of going to watch skanks in a biker bar has lost its appeal.

Life is really no different here than in US, or many other parts of the world, in my opinion, albeit there are some differences in core beliefs about certain aspects of life. It's shades of gray, though. I have enough experience to say that, I think.

These latest restrictions are annoying (ok, beyond annoying) and are pissing-off many, if not most.t It's not because of an attack on freedoms, it's more to do with lack of innovation and courage from our leaders. Bunch of fearful, pandering wimps.

I get what they are trying to do, and for legitimate reasons, but it's not a long-term solution. There is significant concern a combination of sick hospital staff and people needing hospital care could create a huge problem. Simply hiding won't do the trick though.

This problem is happening outside of Canada... the US won't be immune.

I don’t see this closing indoor dining happening in a republican state… for political reasons.
The last 6 weeks I have seen more people I know get covid then I have seen in the last two years…. And the attitude is so what… I got sick and I am now better… I think people are done following and are more receptive to living with it

I'm pretty much there myself, but I do feel for the people that work with the public.

We just came back from a ski vacation out West. You could see the sweep of illness starting with closures of restaurants and shops at the resort. It was because they were short of staff...they were getting sick.

Young people working in equipment stores, servers at restaurants, etc. We'd see one server one day, then they were off sick the next, then the restaurant closed with an apology sign the next. They were facing 100s of people a day. Most didn't like to talk about it but a few would. Tough go for them. I'm worried about the restaurant industry. We order as much takeout as possible to support it.

We almost pulled the plug on flying out but decided to go for it. I'm glad we did. None of us are sick at this point...fingers crossed it stays that way.

We personally know several people that have caught it recently. Friends of ours, and friends of our kids, teammates, etc. They were all vaccinated (as most are here), so the illnessed werr manageable. A buddy of my 15 year old daughter said it was the sickest she had ever felt.

Without getting political about vaccines, what we are seeing here in Ottawa is largely unvaccinated in the hospitals. We have friends and neighbours that work in the field; it's an easy trend to spot. The vaccination seems to work to that extent, at least.

I do have a good friend in Quebec we are worried about. In his 60s, vaccinated but more than 6 months ago so likely not much protection left, and has ended-up on a ventilator. Very concerning when it gets to that point.

I would really like to see more proactive measures here before the need for hospitalization. Doctors are not performing their craft (not allowed to).

It's been a couple years almost and there is still mass paralysis...

Nice...but you've spent time here and know well that the majority of people here are not sheep. There is as much or more dissent here as anywhere...it's just exercised in a quieter, more devious fashion!
