Omc 175 hp 302 engine

I think the go 2468 1357 down each side
Scott you are correct. I probably created the confusion with the chart I posted earlier.

Insofar as the water problem he has currently.....it would appear to be on one side of the block.

Honestly I don’t know what he has for an engine. As to the cylinder order. My 1966 289 cylinders are odd/even banked. The Boss 302 we raced 1234/5678.

Kind of important that the cam matches the crank…… :)

The person i bought the boat from didn't winterize it. He said he did so I took his word for it. When I went to fire it up we found freeze plug out of the engine and the manifolds cracked. Put in new freeze plugs and welded the manifolds. Fired up the engine and water/oil coming out of the block.

This is my first boat and not much of a good experience.

When I put water on the old motor same side filled up with water but I was thinking it was because of the cracked block on the opposite side.

Boats aren't cheap. Quick fixes rarely last long with boats. Hopefully you didn't pay a lot for it. Not winterizing would crack the inside of the manifolds in a heartbeat. If it got cold enough to crack the block.....you need new manifolds as well. I wish I had better news. You need to get a set of reliable manifolds on it before you try to start it again.

If you don't you are risking the money you invested in the engine.

289/302 did change in 70ssome time

Anyone know where I can purchase the manifolds?

Don't remember the name mercruiser parts

There are newer part numbers for those manifolds. Ebay has some used ones listed. If you check the listing you will see other substitute part numbers which are for the same casting. If you Google those part numbers.....you will find some options.

The real problem is I don't think anyone makes those manifolds any more. They are considered vintage.

If the manifolds were cracked on the outside, good chance they were cracked on the inside (exhaust side) also. That’s why it dumped water into the cylinders.
