I purchased my 340 knowing that the Raymarine RL70CRC Radar display was not working, so I am in the process of repairing or replacing. Anyway, as I was doing a lot of research, I kept seeing or reading about the Seatalk between the other Raymarine items. When I pulled my RL out yesterday, I noticed the Seatalk receptable still had the plastic plug. This system came with the boat in 2000. So my question is are these systems supposed to be networked or not? Makes no sense to me.

The rest of the system is Raymarine/Raytheon 398 GPS and Raymarine ST-60 Tridata Depth/Speed/Temp display.

Thanks for any help.

They can be networked. No problem. I found if you have a problem W/ a RM unit call the 800 number and they are very helpfull.
I have had good luck with RM.

Ditto on the 800 number... and yes, they can plug into each other via the seatalk cable. You can even have a splitter for additional raymarine/raytheon components to connect with other seatalk cables. But most RM components have two seatalk pug ins so you can "chain connect them"...
