Crossing bay yesterday it was busy out there, lots of boats, hence lots of boat wakes. Lots of bouncing.
Normal oil pressure is stable at 50, but gauge was bouncing all over between 20 and 50. Never below 20. I really don’t remember it doing this before.
After we got out of the washing machine it settled back at 50. At destination, checked oil, full, clean, no leaks. This morning I fired it and stable at 50.
That guage was bouncing like a fat chick gettin on off a scale. Anyone experience that cause i cant recall it ever bouncing up and down like that.

Was the oil gauge the only one acting like that?

After you check for loose connection(s), take the boat out again and monitor the gauge.

Has the oil pan ever been changed? If it isn't a marine pan, the oil can slosh around in rough water and cause the oil pump to pick up air.

Just the oil gauge. Original pan on factory original engine. as you know, our weather gonna suck next 10 days so probably not moving boat for couple weeks, will see what it does next time.
