Just curious what you all are using to remove these monster diesel oil filters. Mine is completely stuck. I was trying to use a rubber strap wrench with no luck
The previous owner must have went with the triple torque right method of securing it.

I typically double down with a rubber strap wrench and metal band wrench. Get a good bite at the top and bottom of the filter and give it all you got.

I used my belt a week ago when I realized I had lent a strap wrench to friend and didn’t get it back.

Not my idea, but an interesting home built solution:

Of course, the old "screwdriver trick" never ends well:

I’ll have to try the two strap method then to see what I can accomplish there before resorting to the messy screwdriver method. I have a pair of those pliers but mine are smaller and might not get the leverage needed on this size filter. You all have given me some options so thanks!

I used an old belt on both the fuel filters and big oil filter. Works great

The chain wrench is usually good but tends to crush the filter when on too tight and oil goes everywhere.
The strap wrench works better but slips more, so I put a strip of emery cloth under the strap.

I purchased a Chanel Lock version of this after really struggling this year to remove my oil filters. I had tried a belt, an oil filter strap, alot of muscle and some tacky gloves, I finally got them off. Ughhh!

Hopefully next year will be easier with my new Chanel Locks oil filter pliers.
