Oil analysis results

Hi all, Glad to hear you are all slowly getting out of your big cold..Common save your money and move down to Australia (LOL)

Anyway was wondering if you can help..Just had oil analysis done on my Cummins 6bta 370hp
and was wondering if anyone knows where I can compare the results. I have found a chart for some Detroit diesels but for the life of me can't find a comparable chart for cummins.

Have you asked the company that took your money to do the analysis this question?

I will be keeping an eye on this thread. I am surprised the oil analysis company does not give you a sheet explaining the results.

When I go to the doctor and they say my cholesterol is # and my blood pressure is x#/y# they then let me know what this means.

Agreed.
They should have not only explained what the results possibly mean, but also recommendations (if anything abnormal was found) for further investigation as well as re-testing after "x" number of hours.

Example:
One of my Cats came back with wear metals abnormally high- indicating bearing wear. They recommended cutting open both oil filters to check for particulates (none found).

Natch, bearing wear is to be expected on twenty-five year old engines.

The paperwork which came with the analysis was all jumbled but I saw some of the numbers
regarding the various elements.. They are sending a new set of reports through to the diesel mechanic who did the samples..
