Officially received her name last weekend.

How did you decide to remove the old name? I will be doing this prior to next season.
Fin, I haven't yet but plan to Thanksgiving weekend. I think I'm going to try 3M heavy cutting compound and a buffer. If that doesn't get it then I'll break out the 2000 grit sandpaper and then polish it out. I'll let you know how it goes.

Since our old name was a decal, we used heavy duty goo gone and a scraper, and like Carter said, very carefully. Then buffed with buff magic and waxed over. Once the name was on, we gave it another coat of wax.

I used a heat gun to remove mine (also a decal). It was a bit of a slow process(took about an hour), but it all peeled off. I then buffed it with 3M compound/wax, and no evidence whatsoever.

Thanks alot, now the Admiral wants to do our mirror........
