"Official" Threads

Can anyone tell me where I go to get the authorization to start an "Official' thread. I would like to start the "Official Thread to Find Out who Decides Their Thread is Official" thread.

All of a sudden we have all of these "Official" threads; the Official 270, 310, 330, 737, 767, A319 and A320.... Is there someone that decides who's thread gets to be official. Gary, is that one of your duties?

I want to start the "Official Boating Should Be Year 'round in the Northeast" thread. Or how about the "Official I Want an Offer on My Boat" thread.

Seriously....what is the criteria for a thread to become "Official"? Is it like that forum that needed the password? Do you have to have xx number of posts before your threads qualify as "Official"?

How about having a new forum that is the "Official 'Official Thread' Forum" and all of the "Official" threads can go there. Then I wouldn't have to try and do a search for a particular "Official" thread, they would all be in one place.

And another thing....do the "Official" threads have their own "Official Moderators?" If so, what are the qualifications for that job? Maybe at next year's Atlantic City Rendezvous there could be special name tags for the "Official Thread Moderators." Or maybe a special table on the dock that could pass out literaure on the "Official" threads and how they began. Maybe we need a thread on the "Official History of the Official Threads."

I guess I'm just wondering when and why everything got so...."Official." :huh:

It's a thread for... well...you know exactly what it's for... for certain boat owners with specific questions to their boats... or items.
 
The "search" function of this site is pretty weak. I appreciate someone simply starting a thread that allows a search by threads for "official" and "[my model]". I thought that's what the designation was for.
 
Is this the "Official" Un-Official thread? I do not recall seeing many of those.

The unoffical thread, maybe we could refer to as the ObamaPelosiFranksReid do nothing thread, or restate it and call it the PelosiReidObamaFranks thread, "Prof UnOfficial" for short thread? :smt043:smt043:smt043

In the current state of our goverment, maybe you (Norcal) need to be appointed as the "Official" Official - just a thought :huh: (isn't that how acorn works :wow:)

I don't want to be an official anything. I just been wondering why we have all of these "Official" threads. Actually I was just showing that I could be a "Head Pot Stirrer Apprentice" to Gary.

Remember when the Olympics come on and all of a sudden everything becomes the "Official xxxx of the Olympic Games."

Why does everything have to be so....official. Can I start the "Official 1989 340 Sundancer Thread" on my own or do I have to ask someone for a blessing.

I officially give up. :grin:

Wouldn't it then be the unofficial, "Official 1989 340 Sundancer Thread?" But then if you are the official, it would be the "Official 1989 340 Sundancer Thread."

But what do I know, I unofficially started the "Official 380 Thread."

So I can then assume that all of these "Official" threads are unofficial. :thumbsup:
 
So if I start an Official thread then it gets high jacked by meaningless posts does my Officiality transfer to the thief? If so, can I lodge an un-official complaint about the high jacking? If I can steel it back do I become the Official again? Is there such a thing as a Re-official?

I think I'll start an Official thread and see how it turns out. Shoot, Can't do that cause there's this thread already open and I don't want folks made at me for reposting.

I'm leaving now to go sit by myself in my trailered boat and make motor sounds.
