Well it's official, swimming season is open. Yesterday my friend went swimming in Lake Wylie at the T-Bonz docks. Well Ok, he kinda fell in. While attempting to tie the boat up to the dock, he got to leaning to far out and with his feet on the dock and his hands on the boat and the boat moving away from him..... You can imagine! He did try to save himself, he held on to the side of the boat by clinging onto the bow rail and his feet on the side of the boat in the water. It just takes to much upper body strength to hold on like that. So "SPLASH" One thing to note with the beautiful day the deck at T-Bonz had a bunch of people watching. I could not help because I was laughing uncontrollably, I almost fell in myself.

The water temperature is up to 60 degrees today on Lake Wylie.

I would have been more concerned with the Coffee with Cream look of the water myself rather than the temperature though.

Does he glow in the dark now?

poor friend!

As for me, my official splash date is next saturday, March 24th at 9 AM. I closed the loan today so once I pick up the boat I will take pics.

Islandhopper, I'll have pics of the generator for you on that day.

I bet the people at T-Bonz got a kick out of it. Still to cold for me, Dave have you jumped in yet? I remember you saying something last year about always getting in by February.

Sure will as soon as it hits 78. Maybe then we can work on the upgrade to my audio system

Before March is over I take the first "dive in" and November is the last. Haven't missed that in five years. Temperatures are usually in the 70's when that happens but I have to find the warm spots in the lake first..........and we need to clear up the murky water too :smt021

The water HAS to be 59 degrees or I'm not going in!! Anything colder and the two below become two above!! Up in our part of the country, that happens sometime in late June and lasts until the end of September or early October. It's a short season so you have to take advantage of it while you can!

60 degree water isn't even good for fishing, much less swimming!

Water needs to get up to 66-70 for the Spring Fishing season to start. It needs to get up to about 82-85 before the old man (me) takes the plunge. The kids will go in anytime the sun is out.
