They only made the SRV 240 Weekender for 8 years (1972-1980) and I'm wondering how many are still out there and operational? There are a couple of very nice models posted on here but most of the ones you see around the net are beaters in scrap yards. :(

Does anyone have any information on how many of the SRV 240 Weekenders were made per year or any other interesting stats? I have been looking around the net but I haven't been able to find any. If I do I will post them here.

So lets see them folks! Post the year of your SRV 240 Weekender and the mods you have done if any and lets see some pictures of your finished boat or the progress of your restoration!

This is my boat in mid restoration, I am trying to keep my boat as stock looking as possible but it is really tough seeing as none of the fabric, carpet and vinyl colors are still available. Gotta love the 1970'ies LOL.

1978 SeaRay 240cc. Bought the boat at the end of the summer last year. First power boat for our family. I'm working on up grading the electrical and berth now.

She's a project. I started a thread on it....

What rig is that you’re towing it with?

I have a 2000 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 4x4 w trailer tow package 3.55 rear diff. I believe truck is rated at 8000-8300lbs.

I would need to tow it home 6-hr drive.

I have a 03 Ram 1500. Upgraded brakes. It has a 3.55 rear too. With tow package its rated 7800-8500 lbs. Boat was 4700 and steel trailer is about 1200. So I pulled about 6000 lbs through the Rockies. 8% grade on some of those hills. The hydraulic brake on the trailer is is out too, so slowing/stopping was all on the truck.

She handled it like a beast!

Guys,
These 240’s w mercruiser 5.7/350ci and Alpha drives...what do these cruisers do at WOT and cruise rpm/speed?

Can these cruise at 25mph-28mph and do over 35mph-40mph at WOT?

Mine is rated at 260 HP. Was told it will cruise at 20-25 no issue. Top out around 30-35. But mine is the SDB version with the flybridge. So it weighs like 400 lbs more. Those speeds are just fine for everything I want to do anyway.
However...... I'm still refitting it so I havent actually gotten her on the water yet, so I can't ACTUALLY confirm this. I will update as I go

I have one, been in the fam since it was built!
I need help rebuilding the anchor hatch. Any suggestions?
Also need a matching deck hinge for bimini top (Whitecap made camper cover). It's an angling deck hinge & only about 1" tall.
Windows are needing replacement soon. Suggestions?

El Capitan-if working right, yes it will.

I bought a 5x5 sheet of marine grade plywood and cut all new hatches. Sanded down edges so they we smooth. Then stained. Either bought new hinges or straightened out the old ones. Attach a handle or a latch. And you got new hatches. Attached a picture of before I installed the latch.

I did have to cut the edge of the Anchor hatch qt a 45 degree angle to fit on the angled hinge. Still super simple.

Thanks a bunch for this info & pix! How did you handle the bottom/weather stripping? Did you keep the old bottom pieces & just marine plywood the top? What kind of latch did you use? Can you send a pic of the bottom of the anchor hatch, please?

Changed impeller/water pump tonight. Fun times!
