Official Searay 200 Thread

You can replace just the glass, but it’s curved. It’s looking like $1200 to have a glass shop cut it, which is quite a bit for me right now. We thought we would try the salvage route first. Thanks for the link and reply!

yeah, moved my boat today and noticed it is curved. Sorry about that. I wouldn't drop $1200 either. Mostly because I only paid $3k for the boat.

Some of the plastic glass substitutes that are cheaper are easier to form bends, any way you could go that route?

New to the group and just bought this ‘95 200BR. 5.7L Mercruiser, and boat is in great shape!

I have a 1990 200BR (see my post “New Member From Ontario” in Who’s Who Forum)
Has anybody replaced the Sony Cassette Player with a VHF Radio?
The boat is shrink wrapped in storage and I forgot to measure the opening.

The Oceanus VHF DSC has a flush mount dash kit that fits over the opening is you take out the old radio insert. That is what I looked into for my 1994 200. It was the only DSC VHF I could find in my price range built for optional dash mounting. My radio was a clarion AM/FM Cassette.

I bought a 1995 200BR not too long ago, but windshield wiper was missing. Does anyone have the part #, suitable substitute so I can replace?

Does anyone know what the clip thing is called that holds the back to back lounger seats together in the seated position? Or where I can buy one? Thanks!

I've never reclined the lounge seat, so I'm not sure what it looks like. FPmarine has a couple items called seat clips. does this link help?

Is there a way to get to the back of the tac by removing the front of the instrument panel?
I don’t see any screw heads.
I want to move the # of cylinder switch back and forth to try to stop the tac from “wandering” and hate the thought of trying to reach up behind it.

BEH, I have the 1994 200 overnighted so my dash is different. In my setup, there is a cover in the cuddy, I remove the screws to access the back of the dash. Is it possible in the BR setup that the bow seat back cushion is your access? If you pop your head in there with a flashlight does it look like the helm opposite dash is fiberglass to match or a panel?

Good thought, thanks.
Boat is in storage until May 24 weekend.
That will be first place I will look.

Further to this, hopefully there is access to the back of the dash as I will be installing the Helix Chart Plotter and a VHF Radio.
Make everything a lot easier.
Will post pictures when completed.

Just Splashed this weekend.
Had to wait until now as water level on Lake Nippissing and French River still high and some fixed docks still underwater.
Installed the Helix 5 and VHF.
Had to lay down under the dash and at my size, 6’8”, and age, 74, not a easy job but worth it.
Tack still wanders but I can’t see how I can access the back of it.
Hopefully get my neighbours son to reach it.
Boat started and runs great especially for 30 years old.

Greetings from a newbie... just bought a '94 200 Overnighter. I've filled up with gas twice, and both times the gas puked out of the fill tube after the pump kicked off. Is this a common issue, or do I possibly have a plugged vent tube? By the way, these fill-ups were at two different gas stations, so I don't think the pump nozzle was the issue.

Thanks for any suggestions or information anyone can share.

Thanks!

Welcome Ted33. I also have a '94 200OV. You can check the vent on port side over by windshield, there is a small screen on underside but its a good local for wasps and other insects.

Are you getting kickback of fuel right at the end of pumping when it's full or during the whole fuel filling process? It's rather common near the end of the fuel fill if you're not going slow and listening for the gurgle. There are multiple devices, like the below that "catch" the back flush surge and let it settle back in. I'll put a link for one example at the end of my post.

Make sure you check all the fuel lines on your new to you boat, including the vent house for dry rot, cracking, splitting etc. No telling when the last owner last did that service unless you have all the service receipts.

Thanks, CNYBoater, for the very helpful reply. My issue is only at the very end of refueling. I will certainly slow things down and listen for the gurgle. If that doesn't work then I'll invest in the device in the link.

I've tried the first (slower flow) catch on the pump nozzle, but that's still too fast, obviously. It takes fuel fine up until nearly full. I'll check the screen at the end of the vent tube, and all the lines as you suggested.

I'm cleaning the engine bay and fuel tank area today, and installing a dual Perko switch and second battery. I use the boat primarily on Lake Erie so the second battery will make me feel better when I'm miles off shore.

Thanks again for the warm welcome and sound advice. I greatly appreciate it!

Hey there new to this site I have a 2002 200 i was wondering if anyone has a pic of the interior of their ski compartment specially the drain hole.

Fernando,
Welcome to CSR. I do not have a ski locker on my 1994, but hopefully someone can chime in. Are you having a specific issue with the drainage, or lack thereof? I have an in-floor cooler (6-pack size), I've previously pulled it out and can say that the drain for it drops into the bilge, no hose going aft.

Ted,
If your fuel gauge is fairly accurate, I just make a mental note of how much fuel I'm going to need and as I get closer to full I slow down. The 1994 200OV and 200OVOB both have 30 gallon tanks according to the Sea Ray spec sheet. When you get within a few gallons of full, manual the pump in light surges, you'll hear the gurgle and get used to it.

Well I just acquired this boat and it seems to have a pvc pipe sticking out of I assume the old drain was.. I’m just not sure it’s original to the boat
