So as some of you may or may not know I have decided that this years project is going to be a new stereo for Aftica. I am using JL speakers and subs for the entire build. I have many items to bring this entire project together so here are some pictures of my goodies so far.

3/4 marine ply with rounded edges and painted with marine oil based paint.

Here's the lot of goodies

other end of the table with the Fusion AV/700 with the Bluetooth module.

25' 4 gauge pure OFC wire both ground and power. 100' pure copper 12 gauge speaker wire. and three sets of Rockford Fosgate RCA cables.

NMEA2000 back bone & starter kit for the new marine network that is also going in as I am routing the stereo components.

Misc terminals, and SS brackets for mounting the board.

Here's the board again with the jumper bars and the circuit breaker. Also the zip ties and heat shrink assortment.

Blue seas 60 amp breaker for in between battery and JL MHD 900/5 amp

The power supply / charger so I can play the tunes while hooked up to shore power without having to worry about killing my battery or when I want to take to the waves my battery will be fully charged.

Kinetik 1800 power cell so I will have a power buffer between the power supply and I can still use the system while on the hook and not have to worry about it draining my other house batteries. It will be fully separate.

I've got my nice battery terminals / distribution blocks for 4 gauge wire.

have to mount the battery.

Bought a label maker so I can keep the install neat and labeled properly.

Finally the SMD distortion detector. I purchased this thing to set my amp at the absolute right settings so I have clear crisp sound and it will be perfectly tuned so I will have no ill sound.

Check the distortion detector out here...

and I got some new tools too...

and a new heat gun with attachments. I think I have everything I need other then the Stereo equipment. I'm working on fixing that problem now.

Thanks for looking and let me know if there's anything I have missed or what you think...

Thanks for the warning!

LOL, wow... Thanks Mike, I'll send Scott a PM now... LMAO

Re: Official Aftica Stereo Install threat...

Fixed it...please post a picture of the amp setup when you get done, I will be copying you! Thanks!

Yes, Sir... Thank you Scott. Your extra effort as a Moderator is greatly appreciated!

Jason I'm glad to see you have all you need for your project. Take pics along the way. Good luck!

Get rid of the rotozip and get a jigsaw. I am not sure how or why the rotozip always appears in DIY threads but you'll never see a pro using one.

Also, i did not see any fuses mentioned. If you already have them then disregard this. But don't use any of the fancy high amp fuse holders that amp makers push. Instead use real marinized parts like those from blue sea. They don't look as pretty, but are much more appropriate on a boat.

I just scrolled back and saw your breaker. We generally use fuses for amps but that breaker will do nicely.

Looks like a fun day or so coming up

You will love the Fusion unit. I love the app and use my iPad for my remote all over the boat.

Norcal, already love the fusion. I actually installed it last year but had to send it in to fix a bug so it's at home since the boat is still covered up for winter. Highly suggest the Fusion stuff.

Holy sh*%....freedom rock man!

Hey if you're gonna do it...

do it right!

I just love the battery on the dinner table! That's something I would do!!! Where are you going to mount that board?

The little lady doesn't know...

The amp board is going under the steps in the cabin. Behind the access panel..

Mike,

Yes, that is exactly where it is going. There's a lot of space there and the AC runs through there for the head and the mid cabin so I will tap into that for cooling of the space to keep the amp and power supply cool.
