So I figure this little drip I noted coming off the wet side of the ac water pump would not amount to much: Wrong. To day I opened the engine deck and when the ac pump cycled on and golly gee; where there was once a drip now theres a little stream.
Two old sayings come to mind
"It's a boat" and "BOAT stands for break out another thousand."

Do you have the oberdorfer pump with the bronze pump housing? If so ditch that brand and go with a March pump. We replaced the Oberdorfer housing so many times. The March pump and motor is the same price a Oberdorfer head alone. Got ours a Flagship Marine in Stuart.

Thanks for the heads up

Gents, Wondering what size and where you guys store your fenders? For such a big boat the deck storage and particularly the trunk space is limited. I have been keeping a set of round 19” fenders in the engine bay but that is a less than ideal spot for them. My other log style fenders are to big for the trunk space. I really like having large fenders on board but maybe I need to downsize or start deflating them.

I have the 1998 500DA. I'd guess gauge. I had an issue with my generator and it was the gauge.

Did a little trouble shooting and It is in fact the guage. Now the question is what to do. Did you replace the 4-in one guage or get it repaired. I repaired the tack of my 1997 400DA but I had access to replacements if things didn't come out as planned. Not so with this one; least I can't seem to locate a replacement, new or used, and I'm having zero luck finding any sort of repair shop. I haven't even found a schematic for the darned thing nor anyone that's attempted to fix one. Hate just running with the oil psi needle dead. I have the digital read out but the analog not working Is just a bad visual. Oh, and it pisses me off as well.
So what was your solution.

There is a connection at the front of the engine. Make sure that isn’t boogeredup as well. On mine, the waterproof gasket had slipped and was interfering with the pin. It’s just a little 4 pin connector, probably right near top transmission Can you take the cluster apart and replace just the gauge?

For fender storage I put holders on inside bow railing. Size fender is HTM-3

I had those and removed them. The fenders were ALWAYS in my line of sight. To each their own!
Happy New Year to all!

Thought about doing the same but with the fenders bulk; sight lines and my being some what vertically challenged; well I figured just leave well enough alone.

The 4 in one guage is just that, one 5 inch guage with the multiple readouts; oil psi, water temp, amps and fuel readings around the perimeter of the guage. I'm not sure if your boat has the same set up. It's a pretty cool guage right until it ain't. Anyway, not seeing anyway to access the internals. Old brittle plastic being what it is I sure hate trying to do an internal repair and lose everything. The electronic oil psi is reading correctly and SeaRay told me there was only one sending unit on my 3196. Means that little analog guage is dead. Some body must know how to work on these things. I'm hoping Max Marine or Flounder Pounder can at least point me in the correct direction.

Give these guys a call. They are in my neighborhood and fixed a couple of VDO gauges for me in the past and have a great reputation.

My two cent follow up: We have 4 Taylor Made Big B's always ready in the trunk storage. We're anal retentive, so, that storage locker is always tidy. 5 lines hanging with the fenders laying down horizontal stacked 2 high. because of the angle of the boat they generally get attached port of starboard in the same spot almost at the same length each time. If you don't mind walking on the platform while slightly underway this works well. My wife and my first mates are getting really good. Happy New Year everybody the attached file was just a few minutes ago.

Called those guys, Flounder Pounder, Max Marine Eletronic and some other folks in that line of work. They all responded with same answer, not reparable. Now to either come up with replacement or retro fit different gauges. The later maybe being the most reasonable idea in that the port guage is most likely itching to crap out; life expectancy on these things probably being maxed out about now. Big issue there is changing out wring harnes and or also doing the tachometers to match.

Guess I'll be spending my night searching the web

My chat with their technical dude was pretty depressing. Bummer. After a bit of searching I have a line on some used guages; just not sure if they actually work, no way to test them.
If the used ones don't pan out I'll be talking with Paul for sure.

Many thanks
Ron

My center fuel tank guage died. Well it's only showing extreme right indicatio. The previous owner sheathed the floor with 3/4 inch ply word. Of course he neglected to provide for the fuel tank axcess pannels. Finally found them. Thought they would be smaller. The center panel is 12x12. I also had to run trigger and ground wire from the helm to the sending unit. Never found the grounding point for the old system so just wired my own.
Anyway, this task was a pain butt fairly straight forward.
