Good luck with the search.

Heading up to Defenders Spring sale today and a new Vitrifrigo DP2600 refrigerator is on my list.

I'm not the first to replace and surely won't be the last so, I'll take pics of the cabin door removal and install process. The old (failed) Norcold came out by way of sawzall into smaller pieces :)

to be cont....

Good luck with it Mark. I look forward to your pictures and write-up as I am probably not too far behind you with replacing my Norcold.

Yes my Norcold AC power failed first then, the DC finally failed too.
Despite some negative reviews mine lasted a good long time and might have been original...?
Defender has the Vitrifrigo DP2600 in stock for $1382 and I like the look of it.
The Norcold DE0061 was less @ $1175 and my local WMarine would have likely priced matched it. That would have saved the 1.5 hour drive to....choices, choices...

I've unboxed the Vitrifrigo and am very happy with the build quality and has a bit more room inside.
Some CSR guys have this exact one and are generally happy with it.

Boat is still wrapped and will be a project in the next few weeks.

I replaced my original Nordold with a newer Norcold. I was reluctant given all the bad reviews but eventually swayed by the new compressor (danfoss) and design of the Norcold. One year later....I wish I went with the Isotherm or Vitrifrigo. New Norcold does not perform well.

Afternoon fellow 400 EC owners. Glad to see there is a thread like this. I have a 1996 that I am just wrapping up a make over and definitely have a few questions fellow EC owners might have the answers for.

Welcome aboard! Ask away....you will find many people who are more than willing to answer any questions anyone has.

Where do you do most of your boating? I have family in Centerville and Warrenton, so I travel to Virginia several times a year.

Guys,
Still don't have my boat imported from Canada to USA so while reading through owners manual for the engine synchronizer, I have the Sturdy Corporation engine synchronizer manual and the envelop it was placed in with my boat number 598 written on the outside which seems to be common on other manuals, but can not find where the on/off switch is in pictures of my dash. Based on the manual it says a simple on/off switch would be placed by the throttles. I hope I have it on my boat. Cant imagine it would not be added.... Where would Sea Ray hide the switch?

Greg,
I have a Glendinning Synchronizer on my boat that has a switch at the helm. It is the silver plate below the shifters in the picture below.

This is the synchronizer itself in the engine room:

I need to verify/take picture of the US Coast Guard Capacity sticker on my 40 EC to complete my import documentation. Boat is in Canada so where can I tell the marina to look for the sticker?

Thanks

What is to the right of this where that shaft goes into that boot?

Harold,
Where is your synchronizer mounted? I have not had much chance to crawl around in my boat. I know on my friends 1989 420 its mounted on the inside of transom wall on starboard side.

Mine is located below the rear hatch which accesses the generator above the batteries.

That is part of the synchronizer mechanism (I don't know what the official name of it is)

Greg and Woody,
Figured I would walk out to the boat and take a picture of the synchronizer to show both of you.

Here is a closeup of the end for you Woody:

Sorry for double posting but here are some pictures of my new canvas. Forward section is done. They are starting on the camper back:

Question for 94/94 express owners. What does the switch on main panel that says indirect lights control? When I try to turn it on, it seems to have a short.
