Official 390DA Thread

Our marina doesn’t allow it in dumpsters. They always provide a dedicated dumpster for shrink wrap. I thought it was getting recycled somehow....

Does anybody have a good answer for water entering the boat engine compartment during rough seas?. I heard there are special baffles That reduces and seperatey water flow. The intakes are kind of low,and these cummins need a lot of air to breath. I also get water during heavy rain which is probably a recaulkng issue. Generator bed is rusting and I want to fix this wet bilge issue. Please tell me there's a fix

I read a past post that indicated an aftermarket baffle is available for the rear port and stbd vents for around $225/ea. Definitely recaulk the vent covers while installing new baffles.
If shrink wrap is no longer available, heated, indoor storage is how we do it here in Michigan. You don't have to winterize the blocks and water systems won't freeze/crack/explode. I have a wireless temp alarm in my boat that alerts me in the event the facility looses its heat source.
My $.02

I actually installed "demisters" on my 05 390 Sundancer about 8 years ago. They were recommended by Searay at the time and were made by an outside vendor. The air intakes do not stop the water in a heavy rain, it is not a calking issue.
The demisters helped a lot but a hard wash down or horizontal rain would still let a little in. It has been so long and after a move to Florida I can not remember the company or find the info I had at the time.
I spent a lot of time trying to stop the leaks and found the hose coming from the rod holder drain had come off and was draining right over the generator! If you run water into the rod holder you should see it flow out of the little hole in the engine room intakes.

Thanks for the tip. I did check the rod holders in my search fo leaks. The holes were plugged with "stuff". Seems like a poor design

Does anybody have an alternate solution to shrink wrap on the 390 dancer. I think the regulations are coming down the pike that will eliminate the use of shrink wrap. My town is in discussion now as it is not recyclable. Custom winter cover? I don't know if anybody makes them.

Here is one option.

Hello! We bought our 2007 Sundancer 40 a few months ago. I’m enjoying getting Happy Orca ready for the Seattle summer weather. What a great community you have here!

Beautiful Boat! Welcome to the Club! Summer in Seattle, awesome. I used to live on Queen Anne and loved it. I have a 2012 370 here in Austin (Lake Travis) and I spend at least 1 night a week on the boat. Enjoy it.

ANY standard DIN opening stereo will work.. My advice go with a newer clarion for plug and play.. you will have to change the remote and cable going to the remote at the helm (no matter what brand you go with), clarion is a easier to install because you can unplug the old radio and plug in a new one (minus the remote working).. all others wiring will need to be redone, just follow the existing wire colors and you will be fine.. any questions let me know..

Hi everyone. I am trying to activate the Sirius Satellite on my Clarion stereo on my 2007 340 sundancer. When I press menu as per the instructions it doesn’t offer any Sat prompts ... any suggestions??

Basic question - are you sure that you have a Sirius-capable radio, and have an antenna connected?

Yes. It is a clarion CMD4 and there is a Sirius puck on the arch. I am guessing it was factory installed because it’s got the cd changer underneath it in the mdp. I can’t get it out or figure out how to access the back of the mdp.

6 winters and going strong on my winter canvas cover that was made for me by Fisher Canvas in NJ. I have a 2004 390DA. I was the first 390DA they made one for, so my boat was the template for it. It fits like a glove and I love it - especially great for covering a boat that's stored on a hoist over the winter.

How easy is the cover to get on/off?

I have a 2004 390DA and I am trying to find the replacement track for the cabin door panel that slides horizontally. I called my local Sea Ray dealer and was told that the company that made that part went out of business about 10 years ago and the parts are not available from Sea Ray. Does anyone have a source for a replacement kit?

The other part that I can't seem to source are the "390 Sundancer" graphics that are on the sides of the hardtop. Mine are faded out and I'd like to replace them, but those too seem to be unavailable from Sea Ray.

Thanks in advance for any leads.

Jeff

It's a 2 piece setup that laces together in the middle. It's not a difficult task. A couple hands to help get it off and on the boat is really all you need. I can do it all in a couple of hours.
Thanks. I've been thinking about getting one of them. They are not inexpensive, but for the ease of install vs. a flat tarp and long-term cost savings vs. shrink wrap it seems like a good investment.

My windshield wiper motors need to be replaced. I need a source for a quality replacement motors
