What size flat screen TV would be a nice looking aesthetically I pleasing size to put over the refrigerator in the salon, also I believe 24 inch would be a good size for the forward state room and a recommendation for brands of smart TVs
Both of mine are 20”, but they are 5 years old or older, on the 2000 models, it’s pretty tight above the fridge

Anchor locker wash down hose?

Been thinking about this...lots of muddy anchorages up here.

Do you use fresh water or suck water out of what you are floating in? I would hate to use fresh water. Too valuable of a commodity.

Would be about the same work, accept adding a pump for raw water wash down... could jump into a sea cock feed to the AC pretty easy.... we don’t use a ton of water, we Mostly only go out for a day or 2 at a time.

I will use fresh... I think I can fish a hose next to the windless power cables in the starboard side, above the ceiling. Catch it in the tall closet and then Go behind the couch to the salon AC and work my way to a fresh water line to put a T in and a valve to shut it off...

I will fish the line in this season, probably won’t finish it till after the season....

Just ordered the valves and T’s to install a water heater bypass for winterizing. Not really neaded, but will make winterizing a little easier

I searched the interwebs and found somebody on one of the cruiser forums just bought a cordless pressure washer with a suction hose. Ryoby and Worx make a model. More pressure than a hose off of the 12V pump. Not nearly as much pressure as a corded pressure washer or a gas one...but don't need that much pressure.

They do say you can use any fresh water source...wonder about salt water....! Maybe a rinse after with a bit of fresh would make it last.

Batteries only last 15 to 30 minutes but that is enough to clean the anchor chain. I think it would store easily in the chain locker.

I have 24” Vizio’s over the fridge in the salon, in the master cabin, and in the aft cabin.

I had to reach down with my phone and get a picture of the plate. I was told it was a 5.0KW. That does not exist...

After seeing the plate in the picture, it is a 7.0KW..... 7.0BCGB

I have a 2000 380

Has anyone tried to store rods & reels in the engine compartment? I have a couple 7' spinning rods I keep in the forward stateroom and move to the shower if we are overnighting. Lately, the fishing around us has been great. On Sunday, the boat next to us caught 3 Tarpon in about 90 minutes. I would have enjoyed getting in on the action... catching some live bait and putting out a couple larger rods for the big Tarpon.

Water temps are pretty high which usually slows down the bite... the Gulf temp is at 86. Sometimes we anchor overnight and we are closer to our bottom fishing locations. Grouper, Snapper and plenty of King Mackerel are still around.

I was thinking about using the type of holder where you snap your broom or mop onto. Keep them from moving around. Rod lengths are from 5.5 to 7 feet. I figured I would cover up the reel in case any type of oil or dirt would collect on the reel and line.

I welcome any suggestions & ideas.

I want to see if we can get this forum moving again! I really like the idea of storing fishing poles and other stuff in the engine room. I really like what the guy did from OZ that detailed the heck out of his bilge. He had a nice shelf aft of he center line up against the transom. I would love to see details on that.

The snap in holders sound like a good way to go.

I am a lousy fisherman but am full of enthusiasm. Storing fishing gear on our boats is a challenge. I have seen some really tacky piles of stuff on other boats and do not want to do that on ours.

Cheers!

Bruce,

Perhaps my bilge you were referring to?

The shelf is really the base of my integrated swim platform which extends beyond the transom. I simply cut a tub down in height to fit in there. Then screwed in some s/s quick release bimini fittings to the vertical supports and inserted s/s tube to the fittings.

Drilled a couple of holes in the corners of the tub to let any water run out. I glued non slip matting to the underside of the tub and then used an occy strap around the back of the tub and attached it to the s/s tube to keep the whole thing in place when underway.

I use the tub to store oil, coolant, funnels as well as some spare parts for the generator in the Kohler spares box.

I used to keep this stuff on the floor of the bilge until some exposed bolts wore a hole in a gallon coolant bottle and made a mess of the bilge.

Thanks juggernaut1, great use of space!

Your 2006 is configured very differently than the 200 380 we have. I would have to create a way to support the tub. It should not be too hard. There are two vertical support posts forward of the transom to use as a place to hold the storage.

On your boat the batteries are aft. On the 380s, they are forward under the bar sink in the cockpit. I added 4 batteries for house duty and now a have distinct list to Port.

I am trying to come up with some things I can move to the Starboard side to compensate.

Cheers!

Here's my contribution. My 99 380 had the teak grate in the head/shower. For the past 4 years, it's been a maintenance pain in the head. So I had Boat Outfitters make me a new grate out of non-skid Starboard milled up to simulate the grate. Here are pictures of before and after.

Mine can list to port as well. The blackwater tank is forward of the batteries and the gen takes fuel from the starboard tank. So the starboard side gets lighter as the gen uses fuel and the port heavier as the blackwater tank fills. The two fridges and freezer are also on the port side.

I did add the fridge to the cockpit but it weighs about the same as the icemaker. I do need to pump out the holding tank though.

I have 1 gallon water jugs in the centerline hatches, maybe I could move those over to the storage under the sofa.

I will play with it and report back!

Cheers!

Anyone know which model Norcold fridge did Sea Ray put in the cockpit of the 2003 380's? i'm needing to order a part for it, I forgot to look at the model number before I left the boat.
