I think it is 22" but I didnt measure it when I went ot the boat for the survey.... The backsplash if you can believe it is actually a Faux Backsplash, peel and stick, but I tell you you have to get right up on it and touch to see it not real stone.... very cool...

I would prefer the peel and stick for a boat, personally. I'd hate to see real tiles start to loosen up from the flex/movement/shock of boating.

    That does look slick!

OK I'm back in ready for our aussie summer and Christmas holidays. Boat had been in the water for 21 months straight. Micron 66 and prop speed had worked a treat over this period and probably could have used a diver and easily made 24 months. Topsides of the hull were looking in need of a compound and polish with the hull sides were still beading water with the Dulon after 20 months, and so didn't need any compounding. Trim tab zincs were virtually non-existent though!

Tops of the enlarged trim tabs (see previous posts) resembled a reef and was by far the worst part of the boat. I prop speed underneath the trim tabs and wipe them with a microfibre cloth from time to time to keep clean.

Had the props tweaked for another inch of pitch and also balanced. Boat still not free from vibration but the prop guy said unlikely to get perfect with these Teignbridge props. Drove the boat back to my marina of about 70 klms in less than perfect conditions yesterday and looks like I dropped circa 200 - 250 rpm for the same speed but need better weather conditions to verify. Tested on the river on the way out to the ocean and the motors still turned just over 4700 rpm with over 550 litres of fuel, full water, 3 people on board and all gear. I'll change the plugs which are now nearly 3.5 years old and do further rpm verification.

Well, went to look at a couple 2002 and 2001 340's yesterday, while we were there, we looked at a 2000 380.

Well, the wife says no way to the 340's, if we are upgrading, she wants the 380....

Happy wife, Happy Life. Going to work on this for "her"

Curious if the 380's have the same reversion issues and how to tell if the exhaust was upgraded (if it is the same).

Also, any other info or issues is much appreciated

    Thanks in advance!

That's funny because that's exactly what happened to us before we bought our 380. And yes reversion was an issue with the earlier 380s, ones equipped with 7.4L engines and horizontal log exhausts.

    Funny,
I have never heard about this motor having a reversion issue... My 2001 380 has 7.4L Horizons, perhaps the Horizon upgrade addressed this issue? Can anyone tell me where to find out more about this?

The issue was the old style log-muffler exhaust system causing water ingestion. Some owners were lucky enough to catch this early enough and get the engines and/or exhaust replaced under warranty. The exhaust was replaced with the new barrel-type water-lift mufflers. I know that the new exhaust was installed on the 380's (W 8.1's) from the factory (like the one I own) in the middle of 2001, not sure about any others. If you intend on buying one with the old style exhaust, just have a good mechanical survey done to be sure...

So, I went Through the boat trader 380's that had pics of the ER. Everyone looked pretty much like the engine room pic of this one listed on boat trader. I didnt See one exhaust that appeared upgraded
    https://goo.gl/images/Fou5gv

I did Find this one, just by googling "engine 2000 sea ray 380 sundancer" I am Assuming it is the one with the upgraded exhaust
    https://goo.gl/images/rErsfo

When you say get a good survey, what exactly do you mean. I will Be getting one for mechanical and the rest of the boat. Will compression show if the engine has had any reversion issues?

    Thanks again!

This style is the kind of "lift" muffler your looking for and would be considered the New upgrade from the Log style ..... Compression is a good start if it has the Old log style mufflers. I think a better choice would be a leak down test...Maintenance log would be great to know when the manifolds were replaced last and how often they were done. If they're due, when they're off, you'll be able to see the back side of the valves ... any rust is a bad sign.

Anyone know where the control module is for the ACR RCL-100 search light? I don't believe I have seen it under helm...

    Thanks.

Has anyone changed the stereo speaker amps behind the breaker panel. I have 2 small ones and i believe one is not working. My starboard arch speaker and sub have failed. I've switched out the arch speakers, they are both good. I've checked all the stereo head fuses that i can find. My thought is one of these amps are out so i guess i need to swap them out as well.
    Any ideas? 2007 380. Thanks

Looking to be the new owner of a 2000 380 DA. Agreed to price today, hoping for a good survey in the next week-10 days

    I have a few questions

1-I see 5 batteries, curious what the arrangement is. I believe I read 2 for each engine, and 1 for the Genny. What does the house use. I am Not familiar with the how switching works either.

2-My last boat had 2 tanks, a black water tank and grey water tank. I am Only reading about black water, does the grey from the sink/shower go overboard?

3-My last boat used lake water for the toilet, curious if it’s the same?

4-Curious what fender style and size you are using that fits into the aft storage locker.

Any advice or tips on anything is appreciated!

The house uses the engine banks, but don't ask me which, I changed to all LED lights so it's never an issue.
    The grey water goes overboard.
The toilet water comes from the onboard water tank.
I'm not sure on the fender size.
Ours is a 99 but essentially the same and we love the boat. A great value for the money and everything is re-buildable.
