Official 380 Thread

Here’s a link to the owners manual which shows a convertible dinette. If it’s not working, then perhaps a previous owner disabled it. Maybe it broke and they didn’t want to repair? screwed closed maybe?

It will pull out. And it’s hard to get out, especially if it hasn’t been pulled out in years. It may help to run your hands between the seat cushions and the back cushions to loosen their grip a little. Move the table and post. There are no latches it’s just held back by the friction between the cushions. Grab the bottom of the couch in the center and PULLLLLL.

There should be filler cushions, probably under the aft couch/bed.

Ok thanks for the great description!

No problem. If you don't have the filler cushions, I can measure mine so you can have some made.

Are you trying to sleep 6 people?

Does the 38 you're looking at have AC in the cockpit? We just took a trip and our son slept in the cockpit with the AC running. We had some very hot humid days and that AC was able to knock the temps down to the low 70s at night. It makes the boat capable of sleeping 8.

Yes, trying to sleep 6, and love the fact that it has the cockpit AC. Unfortunately, this boat is missing the rear canvas, so that's another expense I'm factoring in, before deciding to buy or not. I was wondering about people sleeping there, once it's enclosed with that AC vent on. So thanks for confirming!

It'll sleep 6 easy if you enclose that back. For that matter, that AC will knock the bite off even with the back is open. As long as the front is enclosed, and there's no wind flowing through.

For any of these boats, I would go through and address the mechanical concerns that you have, and budget 6-10K for a camper enclosure. That extra shade is a game changer. Also when people tell you that the thick plastic windows (they have different brands) that are available for the front are clearer than the glass. Believe them. I tried capturing some photos of that in here:

Thanks. Yeah, we have camper canvas on our 290 and wouldn't want to live without it now. Those windows do look amazing!

Just a note....when that sofa pulls out it's not really big enough for two people in my opinion. It pulls out to about the size of a twin bed.

Its the same on my 2000 model. its ok for 1 person, or 2 kids. or a couple that is newlyweds... LOL

Oh OK that’s really good to know, thanks!

2000 model 380, has anyone looked what’s under the port stateroom closet? I wish the bottom was 6”-12” lower so my shirts would hang correctly

My salon unit is under the long couch. There is no access that I can obviously see to have anything serviceable
My bad. I was thinking that was the salon cabinet for the mid cabin. On the 370, my port closet goes all the way down to the hull. the steps to the berth have a couple of drawers for small stuff.

Suspect it may contain the duct work run for the two upper HVAC vents (one into the head and the other into the front birth)

It probably has the small one for the bathroom, but the fwd salon one runs under the starboard closet iirc…..

Hi My system monitor screen is almost illegible all of a sudden. Does anyone have the part number for the system monitor panel? Where to get one or what options are there for a replacement? 380 2001. TY

Hey Chris,

Have you tried prying up the floor of the closet. If it is anything like the motorhome, they are thin plywood with very small pin nails.

On my 2000 380 I think the ducting goes under the step to the port side of the boat to a chase on the forward side of the closet. I can see an access port in your picture. Also, the hinge side of the closet, the forward side is the chase.

Cheers!
