Official 370 Venture thread

I have my Venture up for sale. (See it on Boat Trader! Listing ID: 8312632) Time to downsize. :(
I did see that one already. Looks great and I think priced correctly. One up here in MI wanted $270k. GLWTS
Hoping to find one closer to Michigan, but I keep looking.

Hey everyone! Just stopping in to say Hi. Our 2014 Venture will be here MO mid week from MI. We’re super excited to be apart of the Venture family.

Congrats! Post some pictures and ask away! We are going on year 2 of owning ours and absolutely love it. I think we will be close to 80-90 hours of use this year and a ton of overnights.

Hello - I am curious how the Venture handles the chop? I was on one recently and she seemed to smack pretty hard a few times. I am rolling around in a 20 ft catamaran for now so can't really compare the ride. Thanks in advance for any input on how she handles a 2ft to 3 ft or so random wave direction choppy lake......

Ad Ventures. We are on the Chesapeake Bay and deal with a lot of chop. 1.5-2.5' with a really short period. I can say the Venture handles it ok, but it still sucks. However, I think it sucks for most boats this size or less. Depending on the conditions we can get on plane and sort of skip across or we can get smacked the whole time. It really all depends. The 40'+ big diesel boats weigh a lot more and I think most of them have a more deep V style hull. These both naturally lend themselves to a better ride. All that being said...the boat can definitely handle it and its not an uncomfortable ride at all. No complaints!

Thanks for the response. It smacked a few times, not to the point we were uncomfortable or anything either. Just wanted to hear from someone with some more drive time. Thanks again!

Has anyone considered the new Sharrow props for the 370 Venture
I did for a very brief moment...until I saw how much they are. I like to buy cool stuff but man those are steep! I also dont have any performance issues with the 13p props that are on our boat (see early posts in this thread about those). We get on plane easily with a full load of fuel, water, and people. Our top speed is 37-39mph depending on fuel, load, etc..but its plenty fast for me. If you do go with the sharrow props please report back! They will come down in price one of these days and it might be fun to try them!

Back in town, boat going into the shop for new cockpit upholstery. Updating it to the new diamond white on white look. Saw some boats at the show with it and it was beautiful. Hopefully done in 3 weeks and back on the market.
I love that look as well. Great choice. I am actually trying to repair a section on mine, rest is in pretty good shape. However we can't figure out how to remove the passenger cushion. See my post 481. In any case, do you think you could ask your installer how he removes that piece?

I have searched high and low for the switch that activates the stern underwater lights. My best guess was accy switch, but that did not do it. Fuse checks out for the underwater lights. I simply cannot locate the switch. Anyone care to share the location?

Hey Bob. You are correct. Its the far right ACCY switch.
Thank you! I guess it's time to look at those bulbs. Has anyone changed them before? From the looks of it it is a sealed housing with a few feet of extra cable (at least through port side access hatch it looks that way). I am thinking you can pull it out of water and replace. If anyone has done before or has bulb suggestions would be appreciated.

Just okayed the new upholstery sample. The previous samples had a stamped in diamond pattern and I didn't like it. I like the richer, raised diamonds. The right way to do it is have them all sewn in, so he made me a sample and it is beautiful. Adds more to the cost but looks great. Hopefully he can get it done in the next 2 weeks.

Looks great! I am excited to see the finished product! Will your guy have a template if any of us wanted to order from him?

Officially ordered the sharrow props after talking to a Marine Max store manager on a getaway this past weekend who was part of a trial on the 32 foot Galeon GTO. He said the performance difference was amazing. Fuel consumption, getting up on plane at lower RPM's, overall handling and top speed were all superior. I figure if I can get on plane 500 to 800 RPM's lower, cruise fuel savings will pay for the props the first 80 to 100 hours of use.
