Official 370 Venture thread

Absolutely will do! It’s a great forum and I’ve got a lot of info from it since I’m a newbie.

I’m doing the small maintenance stuff now just from non use. Next on the fun list is to swap out the speakers with LED ones and also upgrade the underwater lights to blue LEDs.

We keep our boat in the water in Isles of Capri (near Marco Island). It’s a great boat for family days and quiet overnights on the water. Where are you located?

We are in Annapolis Maryland right near the US Naval Academy. Which speakers and lights have you decided on?

I haven’t decided anything yet. Just took measurements today to start researching.

So I got lucky and found a set in stock after calling a ton of dealers. Going on today and hopefully can test them this weekend!

Just a followup on our props...I was lucky enough to find a set of the 13P props that Satoshi recommended and others switched to. They are like night and day from the stock 15P props. Boat jumps out of water and seems to have much better handling when docking in reverse as well. Went from 41mph to 38.5mph on top speed but a small price to pay for not having to struggle out of the hole. Thanks all for the info and help!

A few weeks ago I took my wife and girl friends to "Crab Island" near Destin to swim and party. On the way home I thought something was wrong with the boat because it was so slow getting up on plane. UGH! I had not checked the swim platform and the ladder was down. :(

LOL...after a day of boat partying that's an easy mistake to make!! I've definitely done that a time or two. Speaking of Destin...that's been on our list to visit. We were supposed to spend last Thanksgiving there but Covid of course.

Trying to figure out how to dump the holding tank offshore if needed. Head breaker is on. When I push the discharge button nothing seems to happen. Tried looking in manual for location of a seacock/valve/another switch that I may be missing? Anyone else have experience with this?

Kevin, I dont have a macerator so no direct experience, but here is what the owners manual says.

The macerator seacock is equipped with a system interlock switch which prevents the operation of the macerator when the macerator seacock is closed. The light on the DISCHARGE PUMP switch on the DC Distribution Panel will be lighted when the macerator is operational. If the light is not lighted, it is visual confirmation the macerator seacock is closed and that the macerator cannot be operated. Check that the macerator seacock handle is in the open position and the light on the switch is lighted before operating the macerator.

Thank you mdolesh, not sure how I missed that in the owner's manual. I do have a light under the discharge switch and it was not lit. So now just to find the seacock valve...

Thanks again!

Do any of you guys get generator data on your vesselview?

New member here, longtime “watcher” :)

Really appreciate the detailed and informative posts in this thread. We’re on the market and have looked at a couple Ventures, but haven’t yet closed the deal. Anyone know a good place to post wanted ads? We love the layout of the Venture and are just waiting for the right one to come along. Thanks!

Temptation Yacht Sales has one listed.

New Venture owner. Boat has known generator issues which it sounds like is plentiful on here. Any of you had good success with the OEM generator. I hear the raw water filter had too small of pores and once that were enlarged it fixed a lot of problems...also can someone send me the OEM product sheet... is Sea Ray still stocking parts for this boat?

Which Ventures did you look at?

Afternoon all. I do not own a 370 owner but in the market and this boat is in my top 5. There seems to be a lot of concern of under power when getting on plane (true or false doesn't matter). As these boats are now getting older has anyone had issues with the Verado's and if so has anyone switched to a different model and more specifically a different HP (350's or bigger)? Thank you from a curious potential owner.

Chad,
This boat was on my very short list to move up from our 290DA. I have owned it for a few months and used it a lot. If you read back through the thread a few owners have switched from 15 to 13 pitch props, myself included. I have zero issues getting on plane in seconds with a full loadout. The boat doesn't feel underpowered whatsoever. There is a guy that swapped the 300s with 400s but it wasn't cheap. If/when a repower is necessary I might go to 350's or 400's but if the cost difference was significant I wouldn't hesitate to stay with the 300's. Good luck with your search! Out of curiosity...what other boats are you considering?

Mdolesh,
Thank you for the response. I am all over the place but love the outboard idea. Really like the new 320 SeaRay OB, Aquilla 32 & 36 but these are much newer and much more expensive. It will be mostly a day boat but weekends when possible. Again appreciate the response and helps in consideration.

Anyone here swap out the cockpit lights for LEDs? I’m looking to change to blue LEDs and curious if anyone else has recommendations?

Also need to swap out anchor light to LED as it is very dull and we do a lot of overnight anchors. Info greatly appreciated.
