Official 370 Sundancer thread

Too bad we don't have a big place to put pictures. I've been keeping track of every '95 - '99 370DA on the market for the last three years and amassed over 3,000 pictures of 370's. Lots of great ideas for this model out there. And seemingly an infinite amount of variations of options and equipment.

My mods so far have been somewhat limited. Flat panels in the salon and forward stateroom, ipod stereo in the salon, new radar, chart and GPS and camper canvas.

We did something a little different with the camper canvas. We have two sets of camper parts - one set is solid sunbrella and the other set is just screening. Both sets come off as does the top, thus preserving the original bimini look on the arch.

Don, I always thought if I was going to put a flat screen in the main salon it should go on the big flat area as you're looking into the aft state room. It would be the area behind the privacy curtain if was in the closed position. You know where I mean? I've seen some of the newer, smaller Sundancers have it in that spot.

Mark......Thats the spot I was thinking also. You could use the storage locker for the CD player.....amps...etc.....with easy access to 110V power . Im still thinking of some type of trim around the TV .....to finish the look.....like the newer dancers.

Anyone with pictures of a finished project ???

This official Sundancer thread really receives comments from the many other 370 users. I would like it if the official 380 thread received the same interest.

Anyway I just wanted to state the 370 is the reason I have my 380. I originally started looking at 290's, then 280's. A broker showed me a 310. After some additional research I decide I wanted a boat with V-drives, so I looked at a few 340's. I even paid for a survey for a 340, (non-motivated seller) I parted ways over a few survey issues. So I looked at a 370. I really liked the 370 and was looking for one when I ran across the 380. (I will support someone here at CSR who to paraphrase here, stated "send out about 20 low ball offers and someone will respond," I did) I have to admit to this day believe I got a very good deal. My insurance agent called me twice to verify the price.

Anyway about it there were a multiple factors with the 370 which convinced me I wanted something in the 370 range. I just missed a good deal on a 2003 360 by two hours which also has many features similar to the 370.

Most have been mentioned here, The wider beam, larger engine bilge access, separate shower, door to front state room, etc.

I have since added to my boat the Reverso oil change system and a hailer horn for my 230 VHF. The photo does not show the hailer horn, but it is mounted next to the horn on the arch.

A plug for Raymarine here;

My VHF radio cord was badly frayed on the 230 VHF and breaking off in little pieces. I went online to Raymarine and they have a one-cost repair service. I sent the handheld and cradle unit in and they replaced the cord for $149.00, plus my initial shipping cost, complete turn around time was around three weeks.

Gene, that's a great idea. It sounds like we all have done some mods to our boats that we want to share but we're somewhat limited with posting pics. Does anyone have an idea how we can dump our pics somewhere?(easily?) Mark

Consider it done! I just purchased the domain 370Sundancer.com Give me a couple of days and I will have it set up with all the photos of 370s I have and then we can start adding our own.

Gene, sounds great. I'll be down at my boat tomorrow so I'll take some pics while I'm there. Thanks, Mark

Just come across more pics of some improvements to my 370DA.....I'll post 2 and save the rest for the new site.

This one was to replace the anchor light that was standard ( on the starboard side ) of the arch.....I didn't care for its look.......so I had a local weld shop make this up out of some old s/s bow rail I had laying around......looks much better centered on the arch with a flag too.

This one was to keep my wife happy......she wanted a cutting board. So I had a local wood worker make this up to cover the burners on the stove. Its made of maple wood....with a non toxic stain.....with the Sea Ray logo and my boat name cut into it ...also a groove around the boarder to catch any juice.

This is a great thread !!!!

Took a pic of my bar mod today. I removed the seat to extend the bar area, covered everything with 1/4" Swanstone, and replaced the lame faucet. I can remove the bar top and put the seat back in about 15 minutes if I need to. Mark

NICE Mark........ I also thought of doing the same thing ( removing the seat ) but I wanted to mount a electric BBQ in its place... ...like on the bigger dancers.

That faucet is the way to go..............:) :)

Don, those little white faucets that came with the boat were absolutely useless! I think everyone posting here should consider the faucets we have. What a difference. Hey, is that chrome cup holder you have attached to the boat? That looks pretty nice. Mark

What did you guys use for the faucet? - mfgr and model, please. I hate that tiny little plastic crappy thing. What steps did you go through to replace it? Was it difficult?

The website is about half finished. It's not pretty, but there are over 90 pages of photos up on it. I still have the '95's and '96's to go and I have to double check to see if I've got everything. Not easy when you are trying to put up 3,000 pics. But you guys can check it out as it is "live" of sorts.

If I get some more time tonight or tomorrow, I'll put up a page for Dog Daze and update Absolution's page too.

While we're at it, any one know what the production stats were for our favorite Dancer?

Gene

Gene, I'm not sure of the brand of faucet. A friend of mine gave it to me. You should be able to find one in your local West Marine type store. Very easy to install, I think it took me about 5 minutes.

Gene,
Did you provide a link to your site? I must have missed it, if you did.

Gene, I'm impressed! My wife thought I was anal about knowing every boat for sale in the country but you've got me beat! That's an awesome library of info. I think anyone that visits our "official" thread will greatly appreciate what you've done.:smt038 I wish I had a resource like this before I started making changes to my boat. It would have been alot easier to figure what looks right. Well done! Mark
