Official 370 Sundancer thread

I don’t think I have a slave solenoid… I could be wrong. I’m learning. Everyone suspected my batteries which are pushing three years old, but for the moment everything is cranking and fine. I know batteries are on the short term horizon $.
It's up next to the carby on both motors.

This is typical of MerCruiser starting systems
Item C sits on top of the engine, near the 50 amp circuit breaker, and close to the distributor, in an "electrical box" if it is a MEFI-1. I keep 2 or 3 of these around. They tend to stick open over time and heat. 4 connections and 2 screws. It is live 12V on one side so be careful. I'm sure this is what you had replaced for $60. Make sure your connections are not corroded or oxidized.

Does anyone know where to find a new white laminate door panel for the Norcold refrigerator on this boat? I’ve tried everywhere I can think of for parts, and I can’t find.

My other impossible to find part is the Italian eyeball overhead lamps (I broke the spring off of one replacing the bulb), but that’s my stretch goal.
 
You can try to match the fridge panel with a piece of Formica
Are your overhead lights silver or gold and silver?
 
Finally got my survey done. Hopefully after water test next week I will be a new 97' 370 owner. Looking at the manual I believe the strainer in the picture below is part #161521. Anybody replace these?? I can't seem to find anything online

If it were me, I'd just replace with generic aftermarket similar product. I'm sure whoever pulled it out of the water can assist.
 
So looking for some thoughts. New to me 1998 370 7.4 MPIs. About 400 RPM short of 4200 WOT. Assumed it was prop related as they are not the stock 3 blades but 4 blades. Just pulled the nuts off so I could get a look at the markings. Looks like a 17 x 21 4 blade (Austral 1721L4Q).

Reading thru here (and the parts manual), stock pros are 18 x 21 3 blades. Looks like most owners here replaced with 18 x 19 4 blades. My understanding is the 2 inch pitch reduction will offset the RPM reduction caused by the 4th blade. So my suspicion was that a previous ower just put 21 pitch 4 blades on there. The 21 was right, but what is throwing me off is the dia reduction to 17 inches. Reading the interweb, it doesn't sound like that smaller dia would have a lot of effect.

So is my best bet just to add some 18 x 19s and enjoy? Thanks in advance.

So I am just going to drop this follow up here for any future owners looking for info.
Got new props over the winter. Acme 18 x 19. Did a short shakedown today.
WOT was about 4100 RPM, Gps @31.5 mph. (vs. 3800 RPM, 28-29 mph)
Good cruise at 3000 RPM, Gps @ 22.8 mph (vs 3200 RPM, 22-23 mph)
Did 2600 RPM while still on plane, 15.1 Gps. (vs. 2900 RPM, 16.5 mph)

Didn't really push it, trim it a lot, or do several runs. All in all, I'm pretty happy.

Replacing this will be quite a chore. I'd just go boating, and try to avoid weed lines or other near surface things. If the temp starts to go up on that engine, you know where to look first.
 
While waiting for some parts to finish up my port engine, I stole an idea or two and built this. Will hold my Catalina grill or snacks as needed. About $50 total

That is absolutely Awesome Sir!!!! Will be looking into this as well. Can you provide any insight on the "legs" as well?
Particularly interesting to me due to the fact our MAGMA boat grill wont sit properly in the fishing rod holder on either gunnel due to the canopy top tubing!!!
 
Good Morning All!!! Been a while since I have been on but needless to say, we are still loving our 370DA!!!! Suffice to say though I have recently been bitten by the Sea Ray 68 Super Sun Sport Bug and have absolutely fallen in love with the absolute amazingness of that vessel!!! As for our 370 some developments as of late: Taking her out to the fuel dock a couple of weekends ago the port side engine suddenly spiked in temperature which of course turned us around and put us right back in the slip. After some diggin around discovered the coolant in the log was low and replenished. Run it a couple of times since then and the temperature has not spiked but I do know its time to get the impellers changed out due to last service I can find on those was back in roughly 2019-2020! Its on the list.

Additionally we have been experiencing some issues with the Generator. Got it started up a couple of weekends back but as soon as I started turning on CBs for items in the boat it shut off and would not turn over/ click nothing. Yesterday I went back down and attempted to start it and got the dead battery clicking. Pulled the battery that was marked "Generator" on the original line tags in the boat and ran it up to the marina where we discovered it was a new battery installed in 2022 (probably when we bought the boat because it was called out by the surveyor) and once tested it was showing a steady 13 volts. Looked at the attendant dumbfoundedly and said "I must have pulled the wrong battery!" He chuckled and said "it happens but there may be more to it" which is not what I wanted to hear but glad he humored me all the same. Oddly enough I ran the battery back down to the boat, installed it, and it started up just fine. Unfortunately though, when I began to put a load on it (AC Units) they would cycle on then shut off and I could hear the generator bog down heavily. Continued to let it run for a good 5 minutes with the AC's off but other items in the boat on. Shut it off, waited a couple of minutes and got the dreaded dead battery clicks again. Currently at a loss but more investigating to do on my end.

Anchor Motor had been acting up but now is completely unresponsive to switch on the dash and the foot buttons on the deck. Going through the previous service records I see where the previous owner had requested a service on it. The mech noted that they tapped on the motor and the anchor began working, but also stated the motor was most likely going bad! I made a feeble attempt at getting up under the anchor yesterday to see about pulling the motor but there is some contortionism there that was just not working for me in getting up in there and seeing the "HOW" of the matter! :D All that to say, I definitely have some research to do in the forum on pulling that motor or windlass as a whole to see about getting that motor off. Unfortunatley the wifi at the dock is often temperamental and yesterday was obviously not the day to be trying to dig into the "How Do Ya..." on the web.

Having said all that, boat ownership does not come without its pains; however, I don't regret a day of it and look forward to many more years to come with the ability to be out on the water, even if requires a bit of tinkering here and there!!! :D

I've been through a lot of things with my generator. For the low cost and some of what you mentioned, grab some new capacitors and put them in. Easy job and one thing to take out of the next few troubleshooting steps.
I'd then be checking the governor oil level.
As for the not starting/dead battery type issue, that's an interesting one... maybe next time try manually jumping it just to see if that makes any difference and truly ruling the battery out.

I had some leftover cut-offs from my aft bimini build, which are SS 1" tubing
The only hard part is clipping the tray on the transom locker rail, and then getting the tray level, and measuring what the pipe length will have to be to have it sit level. There is a small amount of adjustment in the 60 degree fittings to account for differences in the transom locker door. Good luck. Tell your envious dockmates, especially on E dock you got it from Beach House.
