Official 370 Sundancer thread

Can't agree more about the 370. The sliding door for the v-berth and seperate shower was the deal closer for us. This is our third Sea Ray and the four of us fit just right. We enjoyed the first summer with her so much, we kept her in the water all winter in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. We were there more than we originally planned and had a great time.

I upgraded the tv recently and am in the process of making a door to cover the closet where the tv used to be. It is now mounted on a swing arm on the wall as you enter the mid cabin. Now we can all see it when we are at the dinette. Even when the curtain is closed, you can position it to be seen. When we travel, the screen faces the wall for protection and is secured with a strap. The other modifcation was adding shelves to the one closet in the v-berth.

Again, thanks for all the great knowledge shared on this thread.
Would you have any pictures on how you mounted it.

My survey guy just submitted his invoice for the now completed survey. Oil samples are off for analysis. Commence the stomach churn...

Hello, I have confirmed the boat I want is a 370 Sundancer , 1995-1998, any recommendations on known issues to look for from the survey. I've seen one that has "moisture" in the stringers (not sure how much) and another that had delamination on the foredeck. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks!

Wet stringers? Surely a 370 owner will chime in but I would have thought there would be no coring below the water line in a 90's+ 370?

I have seen two come up with wet engine stringers. Plus a 330 ameberjack.

My boat has an odor about it. I can’t place it, but it smells like rotting something. Not ‘old boat’, but something festering. I’m going to attack all bilges with beach. Any advice for the a/c system? Also looking at the head. Thinking about copious amounts of bleach there as well.

I have heard of people having issues with the hose from the head to the holding tank, where odor permeates through that also. That would be a pita, so put that in the back of your mind. Bleach to clean all the floor storage is a great start. Clean any AC trays also, my 380 has 2. If the drain gets clogged, that can def be an issue

I had an experience similar to this not long after I let a blackwater tank get overfilled. Once there was a bit of pooh water that made it to the charcoal filter it just smelled. All the time. All over the boat in ways I could not explain. Once I popped in a new filter I was good to go...

I was thinking about the holding tank hose, but I didn’t want to say it. It is a PITA. The a/c drains are a great idea. I’m wondering about hidden bilge areas with standing water I can’t access on this boat. Also shower drains, etc. that need some bleaching. Engine room bilges are going to get it as well. Wondering if there’s some powerful air freshening substance that permeates everywhere. Also, in the a/c intake vents to freshen the ducts.

I think you give the ac pans and bilge areas in the boat, I think that will make a big difference, especially if you use a lemon fresh scent

Is this something that just started?

Sistered plywood stringers from the engine room to the bow, wrapped in multiple layers of glass, but not everywhere. Don't confuse that with the hull, which is just loads of laminate glass. I'll throw the engineering diagrams up when I get to a different computer.

You can access that bilge, you just need a saw. It's about the only dumb thing that in this design. I am an expert on that part of the boat. Start a conversation with me.

there were hints last fall, but it was more powerful this spring. When I got to the boat today, the a/c had switched to cooling mode and it seemed much better smelling. Not sure if the heat mode made things more gamey.

Maybe an uninvited visitor has passed or, unless you know different, your sanitation hoses are 25 years old.

Finally got our new to us 1998 370 home today. Couple of weird things I’m sorting through. Chief among them is this…anyone have a clue what is going on here? Was there some sort of pad originally on the dash around these windshield mounts? Or any other thoughts as to what the material is under those mounts?

Different boat, but I have a 310 da and the window vent motor has a plastic shroud and I have no braces for the rest of window. It looks like some sort of cushion material, maybe to absorb vibration and quite it down? Sorry, not much more than guesses for me.

Looking for help with the cockpit lights on the 1998 370. Namely, location. I know the one at the helm...where are the others? Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the manual accessible and I'm an hour from the boat. Trying to get a count of bulbs needed for replacement.

One near the coaming lockers on the port side near the transom door. Don't remember if there's another on the starboard side, but I think not.
Wait! I know what you need.......
