Official 370 Sundancer thread

Ref my 1995 Searay Sundancer 370
I'm looking for a "Portside" Aft vent fairing cover, mine went missing somehow.
This is the streamlined fairing cover for the engine comp't natural vent, it is made
of plastic and secured with (4) small screws. Have tried many of the online sites incl'
Salvage yards but no luck so far, have attch'd photos of Stb'd cover as example and
photo of the portside area where cover is missing. Am thinking that I may have to
resort to finding a good fibre glass guy to see if he could mould a new cover for me
as seems to be a hard item to find in the used parts field. Any ideas on where I can
get a new or used replacement greatly appc'td, would take a pair if I have to.

Thanks; John.

Further to my above post and as matter of interest;
Since first posting my enquiry (in wrong s.r. model thread sorry) have rec'd a couple of reply's from csr members. I might have a lead on a 1998-370 being salvaged in Lackawanna N.Y. waiting for a reply from my email to them on that one.
Other ms'g was, if I'm not able to find a fairing cover a member suggested to simply
fit a grill over the vent opening and use the exposed flat section as a step station with non skid material fitted also which is what he did in same situation *see attch'd photos 3 & 4.
I think its a good option, so we'll see which way I go depending if I'm able to find a replacement cover or not. Cheers; John.

The one that is being salvaged I might be interested in a few parts as well.

Will let you know sit"n once Iv'e been able to talk to the boatyard.
John.

Hi Chada & Howard I spoke to the boatyard just now;
They say that the 98-370 boat in question is impounded at the yard by "BoatUS"
No one is allowed near it or on it, I guess its due to Insurance matters or possibly USCG is also conducting an investigation who knows.
Apparently she hit the Buffalo breakwater in fog but luckily for those on board she
remained stuck on the breakwater otherwise she would have gone to the bottom,
so guess she has extensive bottom damage. They are supposed to call me back
when any decision is made about repairing or salvaging out for spares.
Rgd's; John.
