Official 370 Sundancer thread

As I was not happy with the low freq output from the (2) 10" subs I add last spring, I dropped an 18" sub into the seating cavity and added 5000 watts to push it around. While bringing the amps online I found some bad wires from the charger to the battery bank so I replaced all the wires/batteries with New AMG Odessey Extremes and a new Victron Skylla IP44 smart charger that links up with the Garmin 8616. Waiting for the CNC grill to cover the sub.

Hello 370 people!

Were in the market and came across someone selling a 1997 370 with just 300 hrs. I have read through about 70% of this thread "thank you to all the contributors" but my main question comes on pricing. If I go to a site like NADA its impossible to list all the options because I simply do not know them. So to get a true value from NADA is a bit impossible. I can go to Boattrader but even there prices are all over they place.

What would a well maintained 97 370 go for with 7.4s? If we did agree to a price I would have a marine survey done regardless.

Thanks in advance!

You won't find what you're seeking :). Condition of the boat is the primary factor driving actual sell price. Asking price is all over the place for all makes and models, especially the older they get. Understanding the average is important, but the actual boat your looking at will likely not be perfectly average.

That said, I'd expect a well maintained 97 370 with a full freshwater history to sell around our parts for $50-80k. Low end prices would be higher hours, original electronics, original canvas, upholstery that shows its age, maybe even a damp foredeck. The higher end of prices will have canvas replaced in the past few years, maybe some mid-2000's or newer electronics, original TV's are long gone, perhaps some seadeck/EVA foam on the floors, well taken care of, fresh(ish) bottom paint, good looking finish on the fiberglass and a clear history of the engines and generator being well looked after.

I've bought two Sea Rays so far. I scoured boattrader for all models I was looking at in the USA. I created a sheet of all asking prices including which models were in/out. I threw out the top few, and the bottom few, and knew what the averages were before I started shopping.

For what it's worth - 300 hours is almost alarmingly low for a boat this age. It seems likely it could have sat unused for a long period of time at some point in her history. That can be hard on a boat...

i just purchased a 1995 370 with 1100 hours in september in great condition (carpet in salon just ok-needs replacement) otherwise beautiful throughout. electronics were old and unusable so i replaced with starboard for now. twin 7.4s as well. i paid 30k surveyed for 45k. so far all is well with the boat. maybe yours was repowered at some point explaining low hours?

hope this helps.

Chad, Stee6043 was correct. The market is your area is not the same as in other parts of the country. We bought our '96 370DA pd $43K (in TX) in July of 2019 with about 450 hrs. with 7.4's, the previous owner had passed so she sat for a couple years. Our survey came out really great and actually listed at about $70K and the bank listed it at about $65K, so both were pretty close on numbers. The things that we are doing to her are our OCD and what we what to change. Like Seadek, camper canvas, taking out the carpet in the salon, upgrading electronics etc... The 370 is an amazing boat and we are so happy with it but will move up to a 50' in a couple years, only because we want to live abord. And about the survey, most insurance companies will not insure it with a survey, so plan that into your budget, the survey and hallout will be about $1500.
Amazing boat you won't be disappointed!!!

Hey everyone. Over the last two weekends we have replaced the salon carpet with wood looking (vinyl flooring). Wow, what a difference, the task was for sure challenging with all the curves. But wow, so happy we did it.

what did you use or how did you remove the old carpet? Im starting mine next weekend.
I got my entire floor up in one piece with this. Used the carpet as an initial template for the flooring.
14 bucks for the Harbor Freight tool, and a few more for the blades.

Roch, I found it easier to cut the carpet into smaller pieces and just pulled it up. Then I used a palm sander with 36 grit paper to remove a majority of the glue and to smooth it out. I used 3M "90 Hi Strength " spray adhesive to attach the vinyl flooring which is 3.0MM x 7.2in x 37.4in. The hardest and most time consuming is all the curves. Our flooring was about $80/box. Home Depot / Lowe's carries it.

It not sure where the presumptive vinyl sheeting came from...mine is 25 year old glued carpet. Fun stuff!! Time and energy....lol

yea...got that. tried it. ugh...sawzaw with blade maybe better solution im told. thank you!
I'd be worried about gouging up the sub floor too much, unless you plan on putting a floor over it before the vinyl. Because it's almost all curves, I chose to take the carpet out in such a way I could use it to trace out a pattern on clear scrib. I then built the entire floor in a clubhouse, and cut it strategically to lay it into the salon/Vee berth. 3 pieces total. Search my posts, and you'll see 40 or so photos of me doing this from start to finish. They will be in a dropbox link. Maybe search for Johnny Corners. That's what I used to make the hatch trim for the floor hatches.

Hello CSR family. well after 2 heart-attacks in December I decided to move on a retirement gift 3 years early because waiting is not guaranteed had planned on a 500 DA but it did not workout so I pulled the trigger on a 94 370 DA instead.
I'm sure I'll have a few questions for you soon looking forward to enjoying her this season!:)

That's a pretty insane step - from a 500 to a 370?? But welcome to CSR at any rate. This is a great place to be...

Welcome. You will find that the majority of stuff in here is directly applicable to the 95-99 models, however, under the skin, a lot of systems related stuff will be the same. Visit 370sundancer.com that Rubber Ducky put together.

Yes I was saving up for the 500 but when the Heart-Attacks hit I decided to get what I could buy outright with the cash I saved up. So the 370 was in that range and I jumped on it. Now to start living and enjoying my second chance at this thing called "LIFE"...
