Official 370 Sundancer thread

TV/stereo project. This tv is actually a monitor which doesn't have a tuner or speakers. I liked it because it was white and curved and super thin and light. It actually worked out well without the tuner because it let me place a tuner box and an Apple TV near each other down below where the antenna wire already was. Using an automatic hdmi switch it simply switches between them based on which ever one is turned on last. Just had to run a long hdmi to the tv. And with the stereo right there, hooking up the sound to the cockpit speakers was easy. The stereo has volume control for separate zones. Added remotes at the helm and right above the outside sink for a separate zone. The factory already had the cockpit speakers wired to a separate amp so that was easy too.
Next steps for this project is to add another sub with its own amp somewhere outside. And some speakers on the stern with a separate zone and control, for when on anchor and swimming/floating.

Does anyone know what these mounts are for? On the window frame just forward of the arch, on each side.

That looks great!!

The mounts are for the bimini bars. You unzip, roll up the front canvas around the bar, move the bar from the original attachment point and place in the mounts. There is a cover that goes over the rolled up bimini that has zippers that attach to the arch in the same manner as the top attaches to the arch leaving the helm open to the sun, or in my case and most, the ability to stand at the helm.

Ah yes! Makes sense. Thanks!

Anyone had a sun pad made for the deck of the 370? I found boatsunpad.com where I requested a quote. Any thoughts on that site? Not many options in TN.
I'd like to have pads in the center and on both sides of the rail like the one in this picture. That's on a 400 DA.
Ideally I'd have it as far back on the deck as possible. Even where it covers the three hatches. But not sure if anyone can make a pad that can fit that. Appreciate any thoughts...

Has anyone done their swim platform and cockpit in seadek material? I'm looking for patterns and reviews. Let me know, thanks!

Greetings all!

i searched but could not locate a thread on removing and replacing the refrigerator in my 370. Anyone have. Looking for manufacturer and model number

Thanks much

Anyone know where I could find the fuse for the "outlets"? For some reason, all of my outlets have stopped working. They not the GFI type plug-in types - so trying to locate the fuse.

Thanks

The Norcold in my 1997 370 was dead upon purchase so this is one of the first projects I tackled almost 4 years ago now (my how time flies). It's a bit of work but the results have been rewarding and completely trouble free. I purchased a Vitrifrigo C115L unit (external compressor). The external compressor provides some useful extra space inside the fridge.

Vitrifrigo brochure at time of purchase: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9etvrtgswbiu7hy/Vitrifrigo_Undercounter_Brochure.pdf?dl=0

The good news: the Vitrifrigo, with it's spacer to fill the gap between the unit and the hole cut for the Norcold fits perfectly. And, being black, it looks great (see photos).

For starters, here's a great post on the general replacement process: http://www.********.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=147659

Removing my old Norcold required cutting off the cooling coil on the back so it fit through the cabin door.. The new Vitrifrigo as shipped did not fit through my cabin door -- with the door opened to the max, there was just enough space but the grab bar to starboard in the entry way was just wide enough to prevent the fridge from going straight through. Our solution was to remove the fridge door, carefully sit the external compressor on top of the fridge and lower it from above. That took 3 people - me lifting and lowering and two more in the cabin to hold and lower the unit while keeping it level so the compressor did not slip off.

With the Norcold out and the new Vitrifrigo in the cabin, the remainder of the project was re-attaching the door, setting up the external compressor on a small platform that I fabricated, securing the platform, connecting the electrical and pushing the new fridge into the opening and securing it with the mount/spacer.

The platform was required because the old Norcold had an internal compressor and just plugged into the 110v outlet provisioned under the galley counter. See the photos for how I made, mounted and secured the compressor platform. You'll see red under the platform mounting brackets - that's foam strip inserted to insulate any compressor vibration or noise from the hull. It's probably not necessary because after getting things installed, I found the compressor to be very quiet and vibration free.

Do note that you'll need a spacer to finish the job - order it at the same time as the fridge if you go with the Vitrifrigo which I highly recommend. Also, you'll probably need to carefully level the Vitrifrigo once inside your 370's fridge cutout.

Here's some photos of the process: http://s1174.photobucket.com/user/Chip_Casanave/library/SeaRay370/Refrigerator

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hey All,

I have had my eye on a 370 for about 3 years now and I'm heavily leaning towards it for next year (assuming the right boat, right deal, is out there) but i had a few questions engine related questions?

Hopefully someone can provide me a little bit better/accurate info than what i have seen online. I am leaning toward either a 97 or 98 but i wanted to know what the real cruising/WOT speeds were for the various engine options:

The 380HP Horizons engines are clear (Thanks rubber ducky your 370 sundancer website was helpful here)
But what about the 340HPs or 310hps engine options? If someone could tell me what the real cruising/WOT speeds are that would be greatly appreciated?

thanks,

Dan

I have the 7.4L carbs in my 95. My preferred cruising speed is about 22mph at 3100rpm. That seems to be the sweet spot. It cruises fine at faster speeds but at 3100rmp it seems to be the most speed for the quietest and smoothest ride.

TN,
How'd you come across a 370DA with 5.7L engines? Did you mean 7.4L? Your boat info says 454s. If you have 5.7L engines and you're running 22mph at 3100 rpm you've got superchargers on there!

Haha, yes sorry they're 7.4s. Not sure what I was think when I typed that. I haven't had a 5.7 in a long time

Is that the 310HP or 340HP version?

Fly'n,

Sounds like your GFCI breaker outlet is tripped as one possbility. On my 1999 370 there's a "GFCI" outlet (http://home.howstuffworks.com/question117.htm) in the head located on the left, underneath the medicine cabinet. There's a button that need to be pressed in to reset and a green light will come on and the outlets will work......unless there's something else going on. For whatever reason, mine gets tripped occasionally during storms.

Good luck,
Phil
