Official 370 Express Cruiser Thread (1997-2000)

That makes sense - Sadly my arms are trashed. Im hoping to find a decent source for replacement.

Hey guys - for anyone who isnt a fan of the interior gold eyeball trim lights, and doesn't want to spend $100 ea on a lumitec replacement... Here is what I installed last night. The first step in the cabin updates and replacing the gold trim/accents...for which I am not a huge fan.

These were only available in a cool white, which appeared more like a brighter Warm white. The cabin lighting is drastically improved in my opinion. They looked good, and I pre attached male/female connectors to them which made install very quick. Unlike most of the "RV/Marine" light options I saw, these were 3" and fit the cut outs. If the brightness gets bothersome, I will message the seller and inquire about a warmer color range.

This is the side by side of the new light vs the factory eyeball.

Cheers! Hope this is useful to someone.

Good morning all!

I've come into an issue - the previous owner attempted to replace the fuel fill caps.

Are these the factory fills - Does someone have the part number for the factory fill cap if so?

Below are the measurements I have. You can see the improper fit in the bottom photo.

I welcome any help anyone here can offer.

Thanks!

I got the 370 EC Windshield cover that aquaholic mentioned in this post. Unfortunately it doesn't fit my boat because of the hardtop supports. I'll do the same deal that he did for me, just pay shipping and it's yours. It's tan material, I can take a pic or two if you are interested.

I have a question for the diesel guys who have the 7.6 BTD generator. Does anyone have/ can they post or share a clip of their gen running, specifically at the exhaust outlet? Mine has 131 hours on it. New impeller, but the exhaust is a little smokey, and I am skeptical of the water output. I feel like it should be a little more volume flowing. I can't find a inlet/outlet delta value for the heat exchanger like my Cats have. I'm looking for a sanity check before I go on a wild goose chase rebuilding things before due time.

If there are any checks I can do on my end from any of you guys in the know, I appreciate the knowledge.

I've got the 7.6 BTD, but I don't have any video of it running, I'll try to get some for you next time I'm there. I don't recall there being a huge volume of water coming out the exhaust, just a consistent flow. Do you have gauges on it to see what the running temperature is? Mine doesn't smoke at all after it's been warmed up (a few minutes, max). What color smoke are you seeing on yours?

I have the aux gauges. I'm running just above 160. I suspect that my heat exchanger is clogged up. As a point of reference - I replaced my impeller, and noticed a minor increase in the water flow. The best way to describe it would be going from a pulse, equivalent in volume to a slow pour from a pitcher, so a heavier pour after change. I replaced my zinc (the original was entirely eaten, or stuck in the HX) and after the new zinc went in, I noticed the decreased flow and light smoke. My thoughts are that the smoke could be a mix of sooty exhaust/steam which wouldn't be present on a unit pumping the correct volume of water. Just looking for a sanity check. I ordered spare gaskets for the heat exchanger end caps, and plan to drain coolant and do a visual inspection. Ive been working through getting a baseline on every system as I touch it. The generator is the current focus.

My apologies I didnt address the color smoke. Its a black-ish steam. Very light, barely visible - however it wasn't present before the zinc change and only happens after the gen is warmed up. This is leading me to the sooty exhaust/steam due to low water volume. I know black = rich, blue = oil, white = coolant. Theres no odor associated with any fluid burns, no visible soot on my hand covering the exhaust port to show a rich condition.... so back to the high exhaust temps from a clogged HX.

Mine runs right at 160, so it's not too far off what you are running. The HX is pretty accessible, so probably is a good starting point. I took that caps off my main engines last year because of seeing steam in the exhaust and they were pretty plugged up with stuff - impeller bits, shells and anode pieces. I cleared it all out and then ran Barnacle Buster in a circulating pump for 12 hours through both engines and all was good after that. I'm guessing you will find the same with your generator.

I appreciate the insight. Thats on the agenda for this week. Im trying to get ready for rockfish opening day this saturday.

Tonight with the wife and kid around my big success was replacing the salon TV with a flat screen that stows away inside the factory TV location.

When I am kidless then i can get more mechanical work done.

And if anyone is looking at arch lights - I switched to the White/red/blue lumitec shadow utility lights. Im pleased - I still have to replace the lower cockpit lights.

I'm following suit - I pulled the caps last night and removed the last, what I am assuming, 3 broken off zincs. It looks like only about 1/3 of the tube bundle is open. So what I'm fairly certain I am seeing is steam. I'm going to look unclog and run barnacle buster or rydlyme through and see how much the improvement is.

I found another gem for anyone searching - if your pier is light on power and you are running heat/AC - the Cruisair display will show a Lo-AC fault, if the voltage under load drops to around 100v as a fail safe. To verify, watch the voltmeter on your power center under load, and compare to what your gen output is under load.

I initially thought lo-ac was an indicator of low refrigerant, reading and troubleshooting prevailed. I'll post pics up of the clogged exchanger for anyone curious.

I have a rear lounge seat that i am not using, it ha be in storage for 6 years looking to sell it, its heavy and big so shipping would be interesting too say the least, i am located in new jersey not sure what its worth
