OFFICIAL 350/370 DA Thread (2008 or newer)

Starting to think a 2008 350 might be my next boat. Not much activity on this model. People still like this boat? Holding up well?

The 2008 350, which is the current 370, is a great boat. The cockpit layout is great.
I'd have a 370 if my dealer hadn't made me such a good deal on my 2010 350.

We took a demo on a 370 this past weekend. It is a great boat and we would love to upgrade but it will not be in the cards for another season or two.

They are great boats love our 2009 350/370 been a lot of fun keep your eyes open we got ours in 2011 as a left over got a huge discount when the time is right you will know. Good luck in the future.

I already have one year and happy with the 350. Several issues with sensors and minor stuff, but nothing important, Marinemax responded well. The outdrives seem to be holding well in salt water, but they'll probably be up for some serious maintenance soon (new paint, zincs).
I've been basically running around Biscayne Bay in Miami and also took 3 trips to Bimini in the Bahamas. Too bad the boat only handles up to 2 ft seas comfortable, anything rougher and you'll be pounding like hell. I might be looking to move up to something bigger to have more space and a better ride, been looking at some used 50 or 54 DA, and the 52 sedan bridge, but all of those mean a lot of additional $.
I'm still intrigued by the sedan bridge and how much the ride changes with that type of boat compared to the sundancers.

Zincs and paint are routine, not serious. Pulling the drives to inspect the joints and bearings is a little more serious on the wallet. You should not have any more serious maintenance assuming you have the SeaCore drives. Your 350 (my old 330) should handle seas greater than 2 feet without pounding. You need to slow it down. I've been out in 4-5 footers at 15-18 knots without any pounding. The boat wants to go at 3500 RPM and cruise at 35 mph. You can't do that in anything over 2-3 foot seas, especially if you are heading into them and they are widely spaced.

I found 3ft seas at 3-4 seconds interval to be very uncomfortable in this boat, you can definitely slow down and you'll make it but it means a very long 60 mile trip on the Gulf Stream.
Anyone added radar to this boat ? looks like a good option when you're boating far from the coast.

I have radar on my 09 makes boating at night and fog a lot more comfortable. I also have had my 09 350 the new 370 out In close spaced chop at 19 to 20 mph quartering the chop I didn't find it that bad we do get some good 4 to 5 foot chop on the lake I'm on and it makes for a longer ride the 22 mile length of the lake but not that much pounding. My weight is a bit more then the 11 350 that might account for some of the difference. My friend owns a meridian and up on the fly bridge you feel more of the side to side rock then in the dancers the beam is also a lot wider.

I saw somewhere that the Meridians have less than 10 degrees of deadrise, that's really flat. In fact they don't even publish the deadrise numbers in their own website.

Yes at the rear of the boat it's around 7 on the 441 the searay is 15 but I'd say the dancer with their 21 you would feel it less and don't forget you get into 50 ft bts your dealing with 30000 lbs plus I'd have to do a good sea trial to see how bad they were in a good chop situation I don't like gong in chop anyway but you can't help it when half way thru your trip there it is lol

Thanks for the replies, who installed the radar in your boat ? I'm seriously considering one but would also like to avoid the Marinemax overprice.

I have radar on my 2010 350. It was installed by the dealer. I have a Raymarine HD Raydome and C95. Works well. Dealer threw in a SeaView mount since I was also having them install an KVH dish at the same time.

Hello, I'm new here and new to the 350/370. Is there an easy guide or something like "350/370 for Dummies" that takes one through the normal tasks? I've poured through the thick books that I found on board and still haven't figured out where an "easy" guide is. For example, if there are battery switches in the cockpit, I've yet to find them... I only know of the keys and the "energize" switches in the elect panel. I also have come to the conclusion that I don't have the ability to select which fuel tank the fuel is coming from like I could on my Regal... so if I needed to run both off of the SB tank because the Port tank ran out of gas..... that doesn't seem to be an option... I already replaced the hot water element when it ended up that I just tripped the sensor on the thermostat because I turned the switch "on" from the panel after shutting the engines off... uhg. I hate learning every thing the hard way... and if the breaker flips on the Hatch lift, it's a nightmare to try to get it opened... (although that probably wouldn't be covered in the 350/370 for Dummies book). Thank you

Welcome Loangainer!
And welcome to trying to figure this beast out. We got ours late last year and now diving in head first. I have digested a lot of info here.

Your best path is to ask questions here. As for battery switches, they are the energize switches you refer to under the keys in the cabin locker. Starboard, port and generator.

I have a 2008 350DA and am trouble with the fuel gauges. Last year when I picked it up from winter storage both gauges showed zero (actual half+). Eventually the port started registering correctly. Now both are not working again. When I first got the boat they replaced both electronic fuel senders with the mechanical. I have tested the senders and both read correctly. Has anyone else come across this issue. I heard rumors about a grounding issue back in 2008 models.

I just started having the same issue. My STBD gauge now registering 0 (both analog and digital) I know the tank is full. Seems like they are all over the place.

Hello, I have a new issue to solve: 1. I had a weird "alarm" that I have no idea what it was... super early in the morning, in the V-berth area.... it gave an intermittent beep. It seemed that any electrical change made it go away (turning on a light, changing the A/C fan speed, etc),,, I thought it was the Air Conditioner control beeping (like maybe the water wasn't flowing), I clicked the up temp and lower fan speed and it went away. But a little while (15mins or so) later it came back as a solid alarm. (and the A/C was working fine and pumping water out the side) It's definitely not the CO alarm, the sound is the exact same sound and location as the tone when using the V-birth actuator up/down buttons. But come to think of it, prior to the alarm, I don't recall that the v-birth actuator buttons caused a tone or beep.. any guesses, ideas, etc? Lastly, not an issue, just a question: has anyone added an easy way to fresh water flush the generator and 2 engines? I'm thinking of plumbing in the Perko Pro-Flush kits into those 3 lines... any thoughts? looking for inexpensive and ease of use.

update- the beep/alarm must have been tied to the v-birth actuator. so now I just turn on the breaker to raise or lower... and then turn it back off when done; now no beeping at 3am. Next question> Port analog temp gauge quit working but the digital readout (at the bottom of the same gauge) still works.... anyone experienced this?

Hi Loangainer and welcome to the SD 350! Yes,, It takes a while to learn the ins and outs of the boat, but over time you'll get it, and yes, do utilize this forum as it will save you a lot of time and effort and $. Lots of nice patient folks here ready to help out when we all can.

We bought our 2008 350 new. The manuals for 2008 we received were marginal at best. Since the boat was 1st years new model they used the older 340 schematics for a lot of stuff. There is a pretty good basic 350 supplement book included and also on the sea ray site for download.

The V berth makes usually a short whining noise when turned off or on. The fuel gauges are electronic and only work when you fill the tanks, then, they generally just bounce around. You can replace with mechanical ones,, kinda costly, or log your fuel hour consumption like we do and keep them pretty full all the time.
This is our 3rd Searay and for us the 350 SD has been a good solid larger type boat that is generally very reliable.
Yes, We've had lots of little things go wrong on the 350: water pumps, stereo amp, shower head, berth wiring harness, generator cool fuel pump and regular fuel pump, anchor motor switch, horn (we replaced that toy with a dual trumpet mounted on the arch), refrigerator thermostat, broken transom door lock assembly, bathroom door mirror coming off, anchor light shorting out, emergency start switch never worked, swim platform stereo speakers never worked,, and some other misc stuff.
Many of the issues are due to some poorer quality work by Searay's assembly staff and others result of the quality of some system components used which I feel are a bit below standard for what you'd expect of a Searay. But,, overall, its a very good boat and as we all know, things can be expected to break.
Good luck!
