OFFICIAL 350/370 DA Thread (2008 or newer)

Hello BAP

The hard top is no big issue its easy to tighten and if your not beeting the snot out of the boat IE 30 knots in pounding seas even then its not really ad issue all the hard tops assemble the same way and attach same as an arch mine was tightend and recaulked since for some reason when they shipped it instead of a low trailor the went with a little to high trailer and had to take it off since then no issues I love it I really dont see a bad bow rise i sit all the time and I dont think its bad at all and i can get it to plane at around 17 to 19 mph with alittle tab at cruise which is 24 to 26 shes pretty flat just a long nose in front of you but the horizon is fine I am 6 ft 3 i dont have to stand at all when cruising its no better or worse then my old 300 da I have V drives so my im alittle heavier out of the hole havent been in one with Axius but I have been on a 390 with axius there is a difference that I can see with the angle on the bow due to being able to trim. all in all i love the boat and the lay out It would be a big difference then the 280 I was surprised how much more boat was in front of me going from my 300 da.
The DTS issue was a known issue and I believe you can have them check your sert to see if you fall into the time frame it was 2007 to early 09 the had the issue with it poping out of gear and not responding I just happened to get one of the 1% that had the issue it dosnt leave you stranded and it was easy to reset and didnt happen all the time once it did they changed out the shifters and no problem since and its been over 100 hrs it happened in the first 45 hrs the boat was new and then again once and a while.
I find it is a pretty responcive boat all in all but like any larger express cruiser if you put the boots to it it will drain the tanks pretty quick but o wouldnt trade the v drive for out drives it was a sight to watch me pull my neices tubing with a 37+ ft cruiser but it cornered well considering not as tight as out drives but tighter then i thought it would Hope this helps if you have any other specfic question let me know Ill try to help as for the Cruiser 360 much heavier boat and I would either go pod drive looking at the fuel numbers on boat test they are pretty comperatable to mine.
Hope this helps

Just became an owner of a new 350, and I was wondering where do you keep your boat. I'm in the salty and warm waters of South Florida, and with the sterndrives I'm a little concerned about keeping it on a wet slip. On the other hand, dry storage for this big of a boat doesn't seem practical. Both options have its pros and cons, any advice ?

I have the same concern. I am considering it, but if you read through this thread there are many comments about issues with the hardtop. Apparently, on other models there is a stainless brace at the front of the hardtop. It sounded like almost everyone has to tighten it yearly, and even then still have issues with creaks and groan sounds. Also, seemed like there were a few comments implying the next model up got better gas mileage then this model....like it was an inefficient hull design or something. I've almost been completely scared off at this point. I know it may not be huge to tighten up, but it's just one extra thing going into it that becomes a maintenance item, and I don't always have time to take care of these types of things. :(

Was the next model up powered with diesel engines? As for the arch, if you like everything else, and the #'s work, maybe not such a biggie to keep it tightened, but I understand your concern completely.

Hello I'm in fresh water but I also have v drives I had out drives on my last boat with the salt wAter and out drives just keep you anodes chAnged religiously and keep the drives well maintained you should be fine I don't think you can valet the 350 I know most marinas stop around the 280 for dry valet storage I myself would wet slip since I spend sobmany nights a aboard congrats on your new boat enjoy

Hello the gas thirsty cOments were on v drive models and for me i went from a 300 da with out drives to v drives also 5.0 to 8.1 so the jump in fuel was substantial but I'll take the v drives all day. I will sAy if you have the out drive with axius the fuel economy goes from .8 mpg I get at cruis to .9 or alittle better if you want better order with yanmar diesels and out drives the next size up is the 390 and it's stock 8.1 gas to but you can get diesel but the zues starts in the 45 da.

I'm in the process of purchasing a 2010 370. The boat has Merc 496 MAG Axius Bravo III's. Does anyone know the approximate fuel burn and range on this boat with this setup? I've heard a few different numbers, but I'm curious to hear from people who actually have this boat with axius.

Also, any other tips, advice, or things to know about this boat?

Thanks!

When testing the boat before purchasing, I could only test the Air Conditioner with the generator on, due to some power problems they had at the docks in my local Marinemax. It was noisy, and I thought that was because the generator was on. Now that I use the A/C with shore power and no generator, I find it noisy too. So is it normal for the A/C unit to be noisy ? Don't think that you can leave the Air on and go to sleep.

It sounds like there's a problem. Even on my 240 my ac runs very quiet. The 2010 370 I'm in the process of buying is the same. The AC is quiet on shore power. When the generator is started up there is some generator noise, but when in the cabin with the door closed its not very loud.

I would ask your dealer to look at it. Are you still under warranty?

Thanks, looks like there's a problem, boat is new and under warranty, let's see what the dealer has to say.

I also had an issue with the Smartcraft showing a "Engine Misfire" message. Oil pressure, temperature are OK on both engines, they're gonna take a look at this too.

I had an issue with miss fire on my port engine they found one of my
Wires was run to close to my exaughst and melted my wire it was like that straight from the factory they ended up doing plugs and wires there are always little things that turn up they are still working On my small punch list my boat was a left over.good luck

Thanks for the advice. I'd be taking the risk of keeping it in the water for this season and see what happens. Already have scheduled some diver services to stay on top of maintenance, and see how it goes.
Grove Harbour marina in Miami offers dry storage for boats this size, prices were convenient but I wasn't sure that's the best solution for a boat this big.

Hello Cpt2012
The only thing I can see that would be a drag would be if you wanted to spend weekends on the boat dry stacking would inhibit you unless you paid for a transient slip I guess it all depends with how you want to use the boat good luck and enjoy

I agree 100% it would seem foolish not to have a boat your size in a slip. We travel a lot, but enjoy much of the time in the slip, at the dock, enjoying our neighbors and otherwise just chilling'. If the only time I could use our boat was on our way to somewhere it would be way too much work, not to mention $'s in fuel and the additional associated maintenance and upkeep, which is mainly done at the slip. Just my 2 cents.

I believe we have the same boat, 35' 6"? From the demo, to now 4 seasons, the air/heat is very quiet, with the exception of the mid-bert, which is to be expected.

Starting to think a 2008 350 might be my next boat. Not much activity on this model. People still like this boat? Holding up well?
