Lets start one. I've never seen anyone mention anything on this site about a 350, or the now re-branded 370 DA.

I'll chime in first:

Its a great boat and we love it. It does seem to be very thirsty though. Check out my woman,,, oh yeah,.

Well looks like she models for Sea Ray since the pic is the Sea Ray sight pic lol

I too hope we get more boaters with the 350/370. I love my boat, but she does burn a lot of gas. The features are some of the best. Thanks for starting.

Re: OFFICIAL 350/370 SD Site (2008 or newer)

Well alright,, good to see the 350/370 DA has a following.

We're on our 4th season and the boat runs great, we love it, especially for entertaining and overnighting.

The Main complaint I have besides the gas consumption is ironically that the gas gauges are very unreliable. A Searay mechanic told me that its a common problem due to the way they're designed and being electronic. I use a logbook to keep track of fill date and hours and factor @ 40 gallons per hour of usage. So, I fill up every 3 -3 1/2 hours to be safe.

Also, we have the Kohler Generator and I've learned you need to start and run it regularly to keep it reliable when you need it. On the hook, this boat will drain the batteries pretty quickly so, you need to run it if you're keeping the fridges and lights etc, on for more than like 2 hours while not running the engine. After the 3rd season I replaced as a preventative measure all 4 batteries and that helped.

Re: OFFICIAL 350/370 SD Site (2008 or newer)

Yes I have also run my batteries low the first time on the hook I had to emergency start the engines to get them to turn over I now rn the gen set every two or three hours to charge them my mechanic told me that is the better way to keep the batteries in good shape I get about 4.5 hours on the hook before the alarm starts to sound so i exercise the gen set all the time I also use the cockpit grill on the hook so that helps also.I have V drives and ran her up to wot today and found she would not reach peak RPM and would only get to bout 35mph on gps full fuel and water so they are checking props on tuesday to make sure they are factory spec I should be turning arouund 4600 rpm and I am turning 4400 on my starbourd and 4350 on my port I know the port is a 22 inch and the starbpard is a 21.5 prop so we will see I wont get the mph you guys with IO get

Re: OFFICIAL 350/370 SD Site (2008 or newer)

The electronic gas gauges are a problem. I had mine replaced with the old mechanical units. They work much better. Yes the boat does eat the gas, but she is one of the nicest looking boats on the water. As for the generator, not sure how, but I chewed up the impeller in less than14 hours. Researching on this site and others, I find that this generator has given boaters lots of problems. Some think that running the boat with the gen on can sometimes cause a loss of water pressure, thus buring up the impeller. Does anyone else have a similar experience or tip? I hate to constantly open up the hatch to open and close the sea cock. Do you run with the sea cock open and the gen off? Thanks

Re: OFFICIAL 350/370 SD Site (2008 or newer)

I use my gen when I cruise but only at 10 to 15 mph I was told that if using at higher speeds the impeller can get to much water and cant keep up since it is mechanical so I venture to play it safe I leave my seacock open all the time I was told there was no reason to shut it off if you forget to turn it on or it looses its prime you could burn out the impeller also but im no gen mechanic so I will let you know when i get to 14 hours I am at 10 now I mainly use it on the hook so only time will tell whats causing the impeller burn outs I work with pumps all the time and I know that if the flow of water to a pump is more then the pump was made to pump it causes a burn out or broken blades I am a mechanical contractor so i have run into suck things where the flow of fluid is greater then the gpm of the impeller and you get problems so I guess thats what the mechanic was talking about we shall see good luck keep me posted if you have further problems

Re: OFFICIAL 350/370 SD Site (2008 or newer)

Re: OFFICIAL 350/370 SD Site (2008 or newer)

Glad to see that there is finally a thread for our boats! I definitely agree with how thirsty she is. I get about 0.8mpg, and cruise at about 3400rpm at 32mph. The biggest problem we've had so far was the trim tabs not operating together (either both up or both down). They finally tracked it down to wrong programming in the electronics module in the bilge, and that took care of it. Last weekend the port fuel gauge/sender crapped out, so it looks like the dealer will be back out again. Hopefully all of the gremlins will be gone before the warranty is up later this month!

Re: OFFICIAL 350/370 SD Site (2008 or newer)

I keep a spare Gen impeller on board. They are not to hard to replace on the hook or away from your marina. I replaced mine at 60 hours and it looked like new. Its a Kohler generator.

Re: OFFICIAL 350/370 SD Site (2008 or newer)

One thing I'm starting to wonder is how well the arch will hold up on the 370. The design seems sound, but it is such a large and heavy unit that I've already seen separation where it connects to the boat. I've re-caulked the gap and made sure the bolts are tight, but I hear it creak sometimes when I go over a large wave.

I noticed on the 2009 400 DA that they've put front bar supports to help control the flexing movement. On our previous 260 DA the arch started cracking at the base.

Re: OFFICIAL 350/370 SD Site (2008 or newer)

Ive heard it creak also im glad searay has liftime on hull ill be having them check it off season

Re: OFFICIAL 350/370 SD Site (2008 or newer)

Our hardtop was pretty noisy when going over waves until the dealer tightened the bolts. It quieted it down considerably, but still creaks when going over big waves. Hopefully the fiberglass won't start cracking on it...

Re: OFFICIAL 350/370 SD Site (2008 or newer)

I also had to have my arch tightened down twice by the dealer so far. Seems like it will be an annual process. Does anyone know how to easily get access to the bolts to do it yourself? And are we sure the warranty would cover cracks in the hardtop side supports?

Well hit 100 hours on my boat this weekend and now my port engine is missing or dropped a valve getting raw fuel out of exhaust and shuttering at headway speed and won't come up to wot I guess I will see today when the mechanic takes her

Re: OFFICIAL 350/370 SD Site (2008 or newer)

Well, I spoke too soon. The arch/hardtop was making a lot of noise yesterday, as the lake was pretty choppy. Guess the dealer will be back out to look at it again. The bolts are pretty easy to get to, you just have to pull off the speaker panels and the padded vinyl panels that are on the arch/gunwale. They just pop on and off. I don't know what exactly is making the noise, but it seems that there should be something between the joint to act as a cushion or to limit noise.
