Official 330 Sundancer Thread

None of your pictures are coming through for me. BTW, I ordered all new stock canvas and valances from Great lakes. My original front windows (in good shape) are very tight now such that I used the expensive EZ-Extend zipper extenders. They actually make all my shrunken original isinglass fit now. My side curtains can now easily be installed. However, I get water penetration through the two spaces between the front three zippers when underway in rough seas. I stuff a rag in there now but will have to rig up something a little more dependable.

Strangest problem
Port engine died. Found ignition breaker tripped. Turn back on motor cracks but won’t start. Than trips. Swapped breakers. Checked gauges. If I put a jumper from coil to battery hit start on panel it runs all gauges good. But can’t shut down.

Will the motor shut down if you unhook the jumper? If so there is your answer. Fault, probably damaged ignition wiring. Circuit breaker on power side grounding and coil side open.

It shuts down once I removed jumper. I didn’t have the switch on. It started in its own right after but died 3 seconds later

It would if you jumpered the ignition right off the battery, no switch in between. When it died 3 seconds later was circuit breaker tripped, again?

I just read on another forum of someone having same issue and was a bad circuit breaker (kept tripping). You could swap circuit breaker out with the one for the other engine and see if that fixes it or temporarily jumper the circuit breaker for a quick test.

hey hows it going. i was wondering if anyone has replaced a swim platform from a 97 330 to a 95 330

If it is the OEM platform (two level) it will probably be close, but I think they probably drilled the holes on each boat as each one was installed, so might be a non-perfect fit and need adjustments and maybe holes moved a bit. If your boat has a bad lower platform, you may want to look at an aftermarket one that is larger and levels out the small OEM. These look fantastic:

I posted this on the electrical page and got a few responses but I'm still stuck
When I launched my boat, I had no power to the stereo, radar or VHF radio. I have since learned that I have no power to my mid ship bilge pump or the sump pump for the shower
I checked all breakers and none are tripped
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Steve

You will have to start tracing back to where those items get their power from and see if there is power at each spot until you find the source of the issue. The fact that there are multiple devices is a clue, but who knows if the wiring was modified by the previous owner. Maybe start with something where the wiring does not run inside OEM wiring bundles so its easier to visually trace?

Do you have the manual that has the wiring diagram? If not, send me a PM with your email address and I will send you the one I have. Its not great quality (its a scan) but you can generally read the wiring colors and flow.

I'll start that this weekend, I was hoping someone else has gone through this and it was an easy fix!!

Hi Fellow boaters
I am thinking about getting a Storage trailer/dolly made for my 1998 330 Sundancer so I can manoeuvre it around the compound if/when needed (not for road use) has anyone had a similar thing made and if so would you share some pictures to help me decide on the best course of action.

Thanks

Tony

May seem simple, but just checking. Have you checked the main battery switches under the helm? Maybe one is switched off.

Having problem with boat lisping to port side. The water level is above the bottom paint edge on the port side and about 2" below the bottom paint edge line on the strbd. side. Found nothing in bilge area. Removed everything from refrigerators and anything else from boat to make it as bare as possible. Have checked throughout the boat in any area accessible to the bilge and everything is dry. Have noticed the port gas acting up and fluctuating more than usual but I cant believe the 2 gas tanks would be that much off to make it lisp that much.
Any ideas?

Hello All, I just purchased a 1998 330 Sundancer with 7.4L Mercs with 250 hrs... I keep her the South Shore of Long Island. I have put about 12 hours on her since I purchased her two weeks ago. So far so good. I am very pleased with the layout and I added custom sunpad on the bow which the Mrs. really enjoys..
I need to do some minor repairs for example replace the foot control for the windlass and replace a charger outlet at the helm. I look forward to enjoying more of this boat.

Congratulations! Best boat SeaRay ever made (I’m very biased though). How does it only have 250hrs? They must not be the original engines.

The previous owner who had it for 8 yrs would use it as s floating condo. He and his wife would arrive at the boat on Thurs and leave Sunday night. According to the boat neighbors he was only seen once moving it with his son. When I went to see the boat the first time and saw how it was decorated and the bar on the galley I knew it was wasn't used much... When I looked into the engine compartment I couldn't believe hiw clean it was! I bought on the spot. The first day he listed it
