Official 330 Sundancer Thread

So my 98’ 330 didn't come with a lock on the sliding door to the cabin. It has the latch just the key part to lock it is missing. Anyone know where I can get a replacement or parts for it?

Thank

so I been noticing lately if I'm by myself I don't have to touch my trim. when I have the family I need to tweak them a little. I know I have the larger fuller tabs on mine. anyone else have same experience.

I use mine all the time. I don't have hydraulic steering so if its not level, it pulls to one side. Trimmed flat the wheel is straight and is ‘hands off” steady. I did install a Bennett Auto Tab control that was plug and play and makes trimming dead simple.

As the season up here draws near to end and I am planning on winterizing Saturday AM (in 85 degree weather! That’s a first). I am taking a 3 week sabbatical (1 week into it) and headed to Spain next week for about 10 days. So by the time we get back I will not really have time to use the boat before it has to come out, so might as well do it now when I have the time.

Reflecting on this year’s boating with the 330. I really love this boat. This year marks 10 years owning it. No major trips this year. Actually only slept on her a couple weekends, but did a lot of day trips and my usual salmon fishing weekend Saturday mornings.

This year’s major repairs were replacing the AC unit that died last year. Always something I guess. But other than that, no major issues. She has carbs, but starts up right away and runs well. I am hovering just under 990 hours on the 454s and they still run strong and true. Will break 1000 in the spring. Was 600 when I bought her. She gets about 1mpg cruising 30mph at 3400 rpm. I love the sound of the big blocks starting up.

I am so comfortable around the dock with it that docking stress is non-existent. I do a lot of fishing trips solo so backing into a shared slip on my own is the routine. Are there a few things I would change if I could? - Maybe, but nothing major. I see lots of new and different boats around the marina and at boat shows, but I don’t get the itch to change. That says something I think.

One last salmon fishing trip with a buddy in the morning and then will start the clean up and winterizing and finish up Saturday. Hauled and blocked next week.

Sad day. Decided to winterize today after getting back from fishing (no salmon today but got a 15lb one Wednesday). The boat is ready for the marina to haul and block this Thursday. I will do the last clean up before they shrink wrap it while it is on shore on the Canadian thanksgiving weekend. Sad day each year. It’s worse when it’s early and beautiful weather. Sitting here at the dock drinking a beer wishing it was May not September.

wow I have to have my handles slammed forward to get 30mph
I am fortunate , I just had a bottom job done on my 330 and had the props worked while it was out of the water. Before that i could only turn 3200 rpms and about 27 mph, now Ill turn 4300 rpm and it will run 40 mph on gps im tickled with the results. It was worth every penny.

So I was updating my Sony head unit to a blue tooth model that was suppose to put out 45Wx4. I noticed a clarion amp behind the radio powering to speakers in the cockpit. It was a 30x2. The speakers on the clarion amp were seriously louder then then the head unit speakers. Is this normal or is it possible my new head has issues. It did display output error twice on it while wiring up the speakers.

What did yo have done to your props?
Any difference in fuel consumption?

Haven't been on the forum in a while since I went to another brand after selling our 240 Sundeck. Now we are looking a 2008 330 Sundancer with 496's and Sea Core drives with a bowthruster - no Axius. What is everyone's thoughts on this motor/drive combo? The boat is like-new clean and has been extremely well maintained. We have been looking for an 2008-2009 330 Sundancer for a while and this one is by far the cleanest and well cared for.
Did you get the 2008 330? How do you like it so far? I just got one a month ago.

Mid Cabin TV--Does anybody know how to remove the mid cabin TV? My cockpit TV and salon TV on my '08 330 both seem to work with the exception of the KEC DVD player which I have read seem to fail for others also. But the broadcast via the Glomex is fine on those TVs, and I can use the auxillary inputs on those TVs also. But the mid-cabin TV will not work with the DVD player (has a separate one) nor the broadcast via the Glomex. Just static. It seems to be flush mounted to a wooden panel held on by four screws which are basically inaccessible with the TV over them--any thoughts on how to remove the TV, and also does anybody know where the splitter is? The wiring diagram shows a four way splitter but doesnt indicate where the splitter is located?

Thanks!

My 95 330DA had this.

I had the same problem. It's possible you have a blockage in filter at the base of the pump, in the tube from the water tank to the pump or the tank vent is blocked. The tank has a pickup tube that draws water from the bottom of the tank, the tube from the tank to the pump connects at the top of the tank. My problem was a washer that fell off my fill hose and into the tank, was fine until it plugged the tube to the water pump. I used a shop vac attached to water fill and was able to remove it.
I was going to say the same. Not unique to a 330DA, I've had this issue with pretty much every boat. Disconnect the line from the tank to the pump at the pump, put an air compressor on it, blow it out, not too much pressure though. Do the same from on the other side of the pump, opening up all faucets. BTW, some winterize the fresh waster system this way. They, clean the bowl/screen and you should be good to go.

Any ever see a note on the fuse panel in the salon that says "Warning do not run A/C invertor while running generator"?

currently as I see it my generator has its own starting battery and its only connected to that. I have 1 battery for the engines and 2 house batteries that are hooked in to switches. My battery charger would charge when on the engine battery and the 2 house batteries.

If I am cruising and have the generator on, I would turn off the battery charger as the engines are charging batteries. If I am on anchor with generator on, I run the battery charger that will charge the house and the engine battery. the generator charges its own battery.

Are you talking about your AC converter (which is a charger that takes 110v and converts in to 12v for charging the batteries) or are you talking about an "inverter" which takes 12v battery power and feeds the 110 systems on the boat when not hooked up to 110v shore power or running the 110v generator? Those warning labels are about "invertors". Your boat may not have an inverter. The stock 90's 330's came with a Converter but not an Inverter.

(yes, I know that there are actually combination Charger/Inverters that can be wired in to do both, but I expect that is not what you have???)

yes its not an inverter but a regular battery charger. so that warning was for inverters?

Currently my generator is on its own battery and was thinking of bridging it with my engine start battery so it benefits from the battery charger when on shore power. will this be a problem. thoughts?
