Official 330 Express Cruiser / 340 Amberjack 1997-2003 Thread

I'm looking at an 330EC and someone removed the radar arch. Does anyone have a source for a factory replacement or perhaps an aftermarket or custom option. The boat just looks lost without the arch and I will need something to attach and enclosure to in the near future.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hey guys I’m curious does anybody off hand know the size bulb we use on the cabin circle lights and the ones that swivel? Thanks

Been a while since I posted and we’ve had a lot of work done on her since we bought our ‘97 330 out of Canada during the Covid onset. Had the typical moisture issues in front of the center windshield and around the windlass area. Had Dryboat come in and since they were doing those areas already and I had elevated moisture readings in the stringers, transom, bulkheads, and cockpit deck, I decided to have it all done. Jon from Dryboat did an amazing job. I had areas that were saturated on the deck up top that are now reading 11% moisture. For those of you that don’t know their process, they pump warm dry air into the areas after they drill holes into them and then once the moisture is gone they fill with epoxy. Here are some before and after photos.View attachment 131243

My 97 330 EC has no vberth door. Anyone have any info. Did SeaRay make them without the door or was it an option? I looked at a few images and some have the door on the starboard side some in port but did not see any without a door.

Thank you.
Mike.

Hey Mike welcome aboard I know the boat you bought is that the one down in Florida? No radar arch? Ceiling panels were redone also?

Yes that's the boat. You know it ? I was told the radar arch was removed to provide extra bridge clearance. A lot has been redone.

Yes I’ve seen the Boat listed I always keep tabs on what our boats are selling for somebody did extensive work to the boat and my first question would be why? it’s not typical to see the ceiling panels and everything completely changed unless there was something wrong in my opinion, if the radar arch was removed where is it? Get a boat history report on this make sure it was not a hurricane boat The engines and electronics look like they were done well, make sure you get a surveyor to check the deck of the boat and around the windlass area for high levels of moisture. The pocket doors that you are not seeing appear to have been covered over with vinyl not sure why but I’m pretty sure the doors are underneath there.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement bathroom oval window. The glass is cracked and it leaks. The screws to tighten the glass against the seal are screwed all the way in and it's still loose. Also is the starboard side window the same ?

Thank you in advance
Mike

Hi Mike, Its a Bomar port light that can be purchased from Flounder Pounder. The screws are probably at their max because the gaskets are worn right down and the reason why it's leaking. I just replaced both my portlight gasket and actually had to back off the screws to accommodate the new gasket. My starboard window leaked so much, it ran down into the hull and filled my cabin storage area with water. I removed both port lights, resealed them with Sikaflex and replaced the gaskets....problem solved!!
I can't help with the broken glass - you may need a complete new portlight as I'm not sure you can replace just the window.
Hope this helps.

That's great advice. Did you get the gasket from FP ? If might be able to get away with the gaskets but the glass looks in sad shape also. I'd like to replace both. The frame and other hardware look good.

Yes, you can buy the gasket at FP. It’s fairly inexpensive - it’s sold by the the foot. I bought 3 feet for each window and had plenty to spare. They have two different profiles, so you need to look at the one you have on your boat now, and match it to either of FP’s.

i had to do both portlights this spring. kinda a PITA. I bought the seal kits from MMI Marine and probably overpaid at $104, BUT it was a perfect fit and came with new screens. a new window will run you $300-400.
removing the window is a real pain. the factory used sheet metal nuts to secure to the outside and just cut off the bolts at length after they tightened them down. It's a 2 man job to remove as you need one on the outside holding the nut with a pliers. if you reuse the old nuts it can be a little tricky getting them started. you need TONS of silicone to seal them. I bought a silver colored caulk for the seal between the trim ring and the window to get a better look. good luck with that project.

...and NOW we are thinking about selling her. we have had it for over 10 years and the kids have outgrown it. One left for college and the other has very little interest in spending weekends at a time on it. it came from St Simons GA where it spent the first 10 years of its life in brackish water. It has been in the fresh on Lake Lanier in Georgia since. we have done a TON of work to this boat, but it has over 1500 hours on 7.4MPI's. it runs good, but also know she is getting a little long in the tooth for gassers. the generator has not run for years (spent several hundreds getting it running only for it to blow up after running it for only 20 hrs). have to pull the starboard motor to get it out, so have just left spent most nights at the dock. so, great interior and a runner, but high hours. Needs bottom paint and a good waxing, but have been on the self service yard wait list for 6 months! I was thinking it was worth about $49k?? any opinions would be appreciated.

I'm looking to put a 16 handle on the transom above the light for use as a grab handle and to mount a flag staff. Does anyone know where the access to this area from behind is ? I looked under the rear seats but there is no access there.

you need to pull the floor storage box out from the floor in front of the transom. The drain hoses for the box will make it difficult to maneuver but on mine you can lift it out far enough to get it to sit on the floor. You should be able to access behind it to secure bolts from that area. It’s a tight reach but doable.

Looking the purchase a set of props for 97 330 EC with Merc 8.1 horizons. Anyone have some laying around ??

Also what is the proper prop size ??

Any help greatly appreciated.

Anyone know where to get a replacement aft bench seat latch? I believe it's part #963421 from the parts manual (1997). It's the part on the underside of the aft bench that holds it in place when you pull out the seat. Tried Google, Flounder Pounder, GG Schmitt, and Boat Outfitters.

Update! I found it at Boat Outfitters, listed as "Sliding Door and Window Stop" but it appears to be the same thing with same dimensions. https://www.boatoutfitters.com/064-3016-sliding-door-and-window-stop

Let me start off saying I love my boat. But I would love to have a cruise speed of around 28-30. I was just curious what setup would that entail? I would guess it would have to be diesels I’m just curious if anybody has seen those types of numbers in our boat.
