Official 330 Express Cruiser / 340 Amberjack 1997-2003 Thread

I’m having water accumulate in the storage compartment under the cabin floor on our 01’ 340 Amberjack. I checked the shower sump and cleaned it out, but it wasn’t bad at all. View attachment 116521 I checked the overflow pan on the A/C unit and there doesn’t seem to be anything accumulating there as well. I even shut off the A/C unit for a week after draining the area, but the water came back. It has a brownish coloration to the water. Any guesses what the issue may be?
Next to the air conditioning overflow pan is an empty void (right side)that will fill up with water if your pan is clogged when the boat rocks back-and-forth it will spill over and run along the channel underneath the carpet where the water tank cover is and find its way into that center storage compartment, take a look

Got a few question for you guys, so I’ve been running the quicksilver 25-40 in my boat, I’ve noticed a lot of guys are using rotella. What’s your thoughts on this and what weight should i go with I have 454 mag horizons w/800hours

Also I plan on doing my risers and manifold this spring, my question is I want to replace spark plugs while I’m at it I’ve been running ACdelcos, should I stick with those or go NGK?

Also have anybody cleaned their air intake?

I also plan on doing cutlass bearings and was wondering did anybody has input on the best brand etc.

I’m just looking to get a list of things to do in the spring, if anybody has any other preventative maintenance idea I’m open to ideas.
Stay with the AC Delcos I use Rotella 20w-40 its good oil and I have no issues

Ill check it out….thanks!

While trying to find out where water was leaking into my cabin floor storage area, I decided to remove the cabin floor carpet to check the holding tank. What a job removing the carpet!! Has anyone replaced the carpet on their cabin floor with Seadek, or a similar product? I could lay down flooring, but I’m trying to avoid a laborious process. I had Seadek on the cabin floor of another boat I had, and it was great.

Check out Lonseal vinyl flooring.

That looks great, is it fairly easy to cut and lay? Did you need to level your floor at all?

I did sand the floor with 60 grit and filled a couple of areas with filler, but not much. It is VERY resilient. Our Lab goes in and out of the cabin all the time and it still looks great 4 years later..

I apologize for asking so many questions, but a couple more if you don’t mind…
-I like the colour you chose, do you remember which number? What about the trim pieces?
-Are they strips that click together?
- my boat is in storage in Wilson, New York and I’m in Canada, so I don’t have easy access to it now, so I can’t measure the floor space. Do you remember how much you needed to complete the cabin floor? I don’t mind ordering extra if need be.

Happy new year all!

Replaced the old fluorescent overhead lights in the cabin this weekend with “waterproof” LED strip lights I found on Amazon. What a difference!

Also: saw Kevin’s post about flooring. I wanted to do Lonseal but the cost was out of reach for me. I ended up using waterproof LVT from Home Depot and actually turned out pretty good.
With that: I have tan colored canvas runners for the cabin we no longer have any use for. Let me know if someone on here wants them. They’re in good shape and we washed them often when we used them. Not looking for money just a good home. Also have the v berth cushions and filler cushion if anyone can make use.
Lastly: looking at a REPOWER. Saw a boat on line that had 6.2s but didn’t think that would be enough to push 16,000lbs? Anyone else had experience with this?
Thanks to all who support this group!

Hey guys does anybody know off hand what size is our cutlass bearings?

Hey guys. Has anyone had trouble with their engine room hatch hinge pin backing out? If so, how did you get it back in? There is limited space to pound on it to push it back in...

Let me know
Thanks

I think a tool like this or piece of metal would get the job done and give you the space you need to hammer on the other end of the crowbar

Thank

I replied with this in the 370 EC thread when he originally asked back on 1/15 https://www.amazon.com/Mayhew-Pro-3...ocphy=9007455&hvtargid=pla-571661940421&psc=1
I'm sure there are less expensive ones out there. Possibly HF or your local auto parts stores.
The welded on barrel is where you tap it with a hammer.

I just figured out which size the largest set of ANCO car wiper blades would fit and adapted the fastener to make it work. Much cheaper and the work much better..

Hey guys, does anybody know what size our cutlass bearings are and which is the best brand?
