Official 330 Express Cruiser / 340 Amberjack 1997-2003 Thread

Sorry I'm not replying to anything in particular just asking for advice on a new cabin fridge. Need one for a 97 330 EC. Direct replacement, don't want to cut or adapt unless absolutely necessary and in particular not have to disassemble it to get it through the cabin door. Is this possible. Made the mistake of starting this on the general forum and got hijacked by DA owners last summer. I'm ready to buy asap. Thanks all
Don’t remember the model number off hand I want to say it was like DE0051 I know they don’t make it anymore but there are direct replacements off of that model number so if you research online the model number of the fridge that’s in your boat you will find 2 to 3 different manufacturers with the same specs it’s also all over this forum as many other boats share the same fridge

New to this thread first post I have a 1997 330 EC with mercruiser 340hp bluewater. Im looking for replacement canvas but I cant seem to find the rear sun shade cover or rear bimini. Does anyone know where i can find one?

Great lakes has everything for the 330EC except the rear Sun Shade and valance. I used another company that would use my old Sun shade and valance as a pattern. But, after getting it from them it does not fit. I need to take some measurements and get back with them, and will probably have to send it back for adjustments. I will keep you posted as things update.

Anyone know what size fuel sending unit our boats use. I need to replace the sending unit in my port tank and was hoping to do it all in one operation versus pulling out old to measure then ordering a replacement.

I have water finding its way into the large storage area in the floor in the cabin, does anyone have any idea where this might coming from? My first thought is the refrigerator drain. I checked the fresh water tank and its not coming from there. Any thoughts would be great or if anyone has replaced the refrigerator does it have a water catch pan? or something that could be leaking in to that storage area?

I got a quote from them and you are correct they have everything but the rear sun shade, thank you

I bought my entire set up from them five years ago they had everything then not sure what changed, I do know that if your boat was made at a certain plant it was unavailable apparently mine was made at the Kentucky plant And that they had in stock.... every piece

Happened to me this winter, but there was no indication it came from above, i.e. the cabin area or fridge. There doesn't seem to be any clear access point so I was/am stumped.

Need some help, so i was down the boat today and when i was going downstairs my knee hit the salon switch plate and it cracked. I was wondering if any of you guys know where i could find a replacement plate for the switch. Thanks guys

Ok. Great read so far. So the 330/340 express is on my list. Unfortunately, it's not on the admiral's list. I like the beam, straight shafts, and engine room. She likes to have the "built in" seats -- so she favors the 330/340 sundancer (We currently use deck chairs on our old boat). So how are you all outfitting your cockpits?

Any idea where I can get this switch panel?

I need some help here.
My cabin entry door trucks are in need of replacement. The ball bearings on the wheels are coming out on the top rollers.
How do I remove the door to replace them? Or is there a way to replace the trucks without taking the door out?
Also, who is the supplier for the parts? Plan is to do the top and bottom trucks all at once.
Thanks

This is on my to-do list as well. From what I’ve read and my planning, you have to remove the entire outside shell (cup holder/map area) - in other words the entire face in front of the portside seat. Parts are available form a number of sources on the web. Pretty sure FlounderPounder has them. They make replacement tracks in plastic and in aluminum. Mine will be aluminum when replaced.

We have a few friends with 340 Sundancers. The cockpit is a lot more cramped in them vs our boat. The ECs/AJs can be found with a big L-shaped couch. You’ll have beam envy if you go the Sundancer route. But maybe I’m a bit biased.......

I think I found the problem I believe that the AC drip pan is leaking right in the seam where the hatch for the freshwater tank and the floor meet, the water runs along the wood that holds the hatch in place. Im currently testing this out by turning the AC off to see if the leak stops

Thanks,
I looked at it last night. Looks like a winter project. Now to figure out how to remove the fasteners forward of the chart holder.

My last boat was a 330 Sundancer. I don't miss the seating in the cockpit one bit. The seats were always in the way. With the the new EC we can put large coolers and kayaks in the cockpit and still have room.

That makes very good sense when I first got my boat five years ago my AC drip pan was holding water and not draining properly until I re-routed the drain hose and did not have a problem since I did have a little water in the Floor storage first month of me owning the boat and then it disappeared now that you made that connection that must’ve been exactly what was happening to me

I know. I just need to convince the Admiral. :)

UPDATE water in the storage area. So I removed the AC completely what I found is that the drain was somewhat plugged, but also for what ever reason the back of the drip pan had two holes drilled into the side for mounting something. Water was leaking out of these holes and into the area where the freshwater tank is. I sealed the holes and cleaned out the drain and my problems are solved, hopefully....
