Official 320 Dancer Thread

Just wondering if anyone else has ever had this happen to them.... I bought my 2006 320 Sundancer a few months ago. I am in San Diego so the weather changes aren't really that drastic. BUT - about 4 times I have had a situation where I am cruising at about 1800 rpm and then want to go up to around 3600 rpm. I push the throttles up and get to about 3100 rpm and the engines won't go any higher. I push the throttles and it's like the engines can't handle any more fuel and just stay at 3100 or even decrease down to like 3000. Since I have fuel injection I know it's not flooding out.. Not sure what is happening. FYI - bought the boat with around 210 hours fresh water only. Now in salt water. Haven't changed the plugs or fuel filters so that may be it but it only rarely happens so not sure.

Could be the dreaded paint in the Cool fuel module making its way to your injectors. You should search on here for the paint issues with the Cool Fuel unit used on your vintage mercs.

Yup - certainly sounds like injectors clogged. As a quickie, you can try changing the fuel filter and filter disc if you don't know when it was done last.

Trying to find a new fuel or water cap for my 320 Sundancer according to sea ray it’s part # 522581 but I can’t find the cap anywhere I have gone through 3 caps and none of them have been the correct one yet. Anyone have replaced their cap, or have any helpful info??

This is the pattern we are going with for the flooring. I really like this design and have seen very positive feedback about the MFG.

Like you, I have a 2003 Sea Ray 320 Sundancer. It is new to me and I am in the process of renaming the boat. I really like the size of the font you used on your boat name and placement of the Martini glasses. I hadn't thought of using to images of our logo...I've attached a copy of what we are thinking.

Can you share with me your font size you went with for your boat name?

Who knew it was going to be so hard to name a boat? In our case, my wife and I recently sold our home after 20 years and raising two daughters in that house. It was time to do something new, hence the name.

Thanks for sharing your info!

Has anyone else had an issue with their aux input on their Clarion CMD4? I plug the 3.5mm into the (provided) jack and the other end into my phone but it won't work. No sound at all. I have gone in and programmed it to "high" sensitivity but still nothing. Until I replace the entire system, I would love to get this to work.
I was finally able to resolve my issue with my aux input with my old Clarion CMD4 unit. I removed the CD player and found a couple of sets of RCA jack extensions coming off the back of the head unit. One of those sets actually connects to the aux input on the head unit and now I can plug my phone in and play directly from the phone. This weekend I plan on connecting a bluetooth receiver to those RCA jacks so I won't even have to plug my phone in anymore. Cost for the Fusion Bluetooth receiver was only around $40. Next I will replace the boring Clarion speakers in the cockpit area. Pictures to follow.

I have the same issue! Pictures or the wire colors of the RCA jack extensions would be much appreciated. Thanks

I took the power panel off. Removed CD player. There is access to both a positive and several negative terminals to hook up the bluetooth receiver to. I went ahead with the Fusion one though JL audio makes a good one, too. The receiver picks up my phone from anywhere on the boat. When I am about 10 feet behind my boat the signal starts to go out. But overall the sound is exceptional. Very easy install. Took me about 25 minutes including putting everything back together. BUT there were 2 or 3 sets of "open" RCA extension jacks that I could plug in to. I tried 2 before finding this shorter set of extensions hanging behind the CD player. I had male RCA to 3.5mm cord plugged into my phone and tested the open female RCA extension jacks that way. Really thought about totally replacing this old Clarion CMD4 unit completely but now I have SiriusXM radio and full bluetooth and it sounds good so will just put those $$ into something else. NOTE - the CD player is attached with 2 screws on each side attached to brackets. The CD player has only one cord attached on the left side.

All, I know there are a few threads on this but I’m looking for a tidy way of running a power cord up from the engine room into the outlet in the cabinet next to the cockpit fridge (unless you know of a better outlet somewhere else). I currently run the cord through the circular access hole in the deck but would like to find a cleaner solution (I am not interested in hard wiring at this time). Thanks for any tips!

I do the same thing as you on our 340. Run the cord up through the access plate in the cabinet under the sink. I also stuff a towel in the hole to help hold the heat in. This works great for us. Don't see the need to drill another hole in the boat for a seasonal addition. Not sure if your access plate is inside the cabinet, but if not I guess you could add a smaller access plate inside the cabinet.

Completed a couple other projects this last week. First, all new isinglass (or whatever it is called these days) with all new front and side panels. Seen here I had "dog ears" zippers cut into the side panels for airflow and visibility. I put a snap in the center and on the radar arch to keep them open while still or driving. Works GREAT for airflow in either situation. Also, did replace the original Clarion speakers with Polk Audio. I do not have the upgraded stereo system on my boat so no sub. After installing all 4 of these, pretty happy with the bass response and will probably not install an additional sub?? Finally, installed new Aquamat cockpit flooring from Corinthian Marine. I really went with them because of free shipping. The other companies would have charged around $200 to ship so big savings. The cockpit carpeting that was in the boat must have been the original and the bottom was completed dry rotted.

I will be changing out the fuel filter/separate in the next 2 weeks or so and will let you know how that goes. I have seen other posts on here about it but will try to put some pics in. I won't know right away if that worked because the "stall" I experience only happens sporadically. Thanks for all the help.

Looks great!

I am on saltwater and want to flush out my engines. I see there is a freshwater flush but there must be an adapter that connects to a hose and then to this flush out? Does anyone know?
