I really like ours too. The draw back I find is that the cockpit seating is not good for conversation. However, the layout of the salon is so appealing to me that I can deal with the seating arrangement. I will say that I love the room in the cockpit because of the seating configuration.
I don't yet have the cockpit fridge....I now end up taking the cooler out of the cabinet and putting it right in front of the cabinet, right in back of the drivers seat. It only takes up a little room and ends up being my seat to sit and talk.
I have the cockpit fridge & an extra ice chest. For the ice chest, I got the Igloo white cube and as previously posted I keep it tucked behind the captains seat.
I got the Igloo white cube. It is perfect size and the perfect height to double as a seat. I often pull it up to the cockpit table when anchored. Hint, do not get the larger one with wheels. I tried it and it was a cluster. it moves too easy when underway. It was like dodge ball.
I was bummed that I bought two coolers to get what I wanted but actually it works great. The larger cooler will hold contents for the fridges & for the on-board cooler. It has wheels. I keep the larger Igloo at home and on the dock. It has wheels so it gets me down the dock easier. I load the boat up with the contents and at the dock I keep extra ice and beverages in the now large empty Igloo. I have the luxury of having a covered, secure slip so this might not work for others but it works well for me.
ENJOY THE WEEKEND. Is it Friday yet ??
You have a nice system....I'm coming down to your place!
.Anybody got any good upgrades planned during the year or recently finished?
OK Gang...this post was now languishing on Page 3! Let's keep it going.....
I just returned from nine days on the west coast of Florida. I went with a group of about 20 boats. We started in St Pete, and traveled down to Marco Island and back, spending a couple of days at three marina's.
I now have over 200 hours on my motors. Can someone give me an estimate on when I should plan to drop my outdrives and replace my gimbel bearings?
How many hours on your new model 290????
Hello all, I am looking at buying a 2007 290 Sundancer but have some questions on towing. What is the weight of the boat with T-5.0L Bravo III’s? The brochure says the dry weight is 9,250 lbs, not sure if it’s for the single, twin 4.3’s or what? Also, for those that trailer, what is the height at the top of the radar arch on a trailer? What brand trailer do you use?
Really appreciate any help you can offer, I don’t want to buy the boat unless I can trailer it.
Kevin
You will be close to 12K lbs with 1/4 tank of fuel no water and empty holding tank including the trailer and some gear.
I use a 350 to tow ours. You will need a permit due to the width. height probably not an issue. You just have to contact the state dot with your route and have a permit in each state you travel through.
I can't remember what the height was but it was under the limit. There's a thread on here I started about this somewhere. I think it was how tall is a 2006 290DA on trailer. Try the search feature. If I find it I'll post a link.
Time for your 200 hour service. I think the gimbel bearing's on ours are non serviceable. They will pull the outdrives and check alignment. most of the 200 hour is fluid changes. I'm still about 30 hours away from it.
