Do those go bad? Where is it located and do you know the part number?

I’m tempted to get the Vesselview for Bluetooth...

Let me know if you get the vesselview for bluetooth. When I first enquired about it I was told my SC system wasn't compatible (2005 280). But I'm not sure the mechanic ever did an install - so I'm very interested.

I ordered it today. I emailed Mercrusier to confirm what part number to get.

The water pressure sensor is on the power steering cooler.

New IAC is in, beep is gone!

New IAC has a spring at the end. Old one didn’t...
I learned something new (and I've got plenty more to learn). I didn't realize that you get an alarm if the IAC goes bad. I thought the sure sign of a bad IAC was if the engine couldn't be started in idle (meaning it needed more throttle to start).

Thanks for sharing. Btw how's the Bluetooth vesselview install going.

IAC install takes about 15min tops on the 496mag. The new IAC has a spring at the end of the plunger (original didn’t).

The electrical connection for the VesselView is right on top of the engine block, right side (at least on my 2003). The Vesselview shows up Friday. Looks like it will take about 5min to install. I already downloaded the App. on my IPhone.

IAC is a pretty easy install. Please post pics of your vessel view install, as I know there are others like myself interested in doing the same. Just curious where you purchased the bluetooth module and the cost?

So, my boat doesn’t have the yellow weather cap for Vesselview. Apparently that is needed. So had to order that...install won’t happen until I get that.

Hmm I think I saw that on my harness - but not sure can you send me the part number for that and a pic if you can.

Questions for those who change their own oil:

On my 5.0 engine the oil filter is mounted high on the engine. I assume that the oil drains out of the filter when the engine is not running so it can be unscrewed without a mess. Is that correct?

It will do just that, but it will create a vacuum and not all will drain. Barely loosen the filter enough to break the seal and let some air in. Give it 10-15 mins and no mess.
