Official 270 SLX Thread (There HAS to be enough of us!)

Does the sea ray 270slx have a fuel shutoff valve?
I need to winterize the boat and I plan on hooking up a portable tank with the “cocktail” to fog it out.
Has anyone done this? Any suggestions? Thanks!

There is a solenoid valve at the outlet of the fuel tank. That’s the only one.

It is off when the boat is off, on when key is on. Will need to disconnect the power to it.

I am planning on buying a new 270slx ob with a 300 mercury I was wondering how it rides in chop

There's no such thing as a new 270 SLX, and there has never been a 270 SLX with an outboard, so I'm not sure anyone here can answer that question.

I have owned both the 270 Slx and a 270 sdx outboard. Which do you mean, and what specific questions do you have around the ride?

Thanks. In re the 270 SDX OB how does it handle 2 foot seas

I am an inland boater, with only a little gulf experience, but can compare the two. The Slx is a bit heavier and the weight is low with the 496 stuffed in the back. It was a very planted ride, think boulevard cruiser. Handles well, could handle waves and chop nicely. I used that boat in the gulf a few times during the buying process. No issues at all with 2’. My SDX is an outboard. Just a little lighter and flared at the front with the full beam bow. With the outboard, mine is a little less planted with the weight high up. My friends SDX with the IO feels a little more stable in side waves. The SDX handles a little quicker and more responsive. It is a heavy boat, so it does fine in chop and is still a v hull, but it moves a bit more and rides just a bit lighter. I would not hesitate to take it in the gulf in 2’ for certain.

My CORSA captains call stopped working. When I click the switch I can hear something but the exhaust doesn’t open up on either side. Anyone ever have this problem? If so how was it resolved?

Hi all! This seems like a really fantastic place. I am in the midst of purchasing a 270 SLX. I do have a couple questions I am hoping someone can chime in on. First the Navman that is in it is circa 2006 I believe. Is there a way to update this or is there a particular chart plotter everyone is installing in its place? Also the small door cover that covers the radio compartment appears to missing some sticky stuff, so it falls while going down the lake. Is there a solid fix for this? I was thinking maybe a couple velcro strips in its place or something. TIA for the help!!! We are excited to be Sea Ray owners!!

Will need to do more troubleshooting. Have someone in the hatch while you hit the switch and listen for the solenoids clicking right at the valve. If they are engaging, then pull the pin and see if the solenoid moves on its own and also try to manually move the actuator. They can be rusted or stuck in place. Do this with engines off of course.

has anyone changed their wood grain panels to black? if so, where did you get the panels from?

Does anyone know what size sub is in the 2006 270 slx? Is it 10 or 12 inch?
It’s located behind the port seat

Has anyone upgraded their sound system in the 270slx. Curious what speakers you used and what amp. I’m thinking of changing out the 6.5 inch speakers for jl audio 7.7 in the back and mid ship. I don’t think they’ll fit in the front

The parts manual says the speakers are 6.5", so that's what my sons gave me for father's day to replace them. By the time I finally got around to doing the change over, I could no longer return them. Turns out the holes are for 7.0"+ speakers. I had to buy adapter rings. Just a word of caution.
