Official 240 Sundancer Thread

Hi all! Does anyone know or have access to a 2000 era 240DA and could supply me the clearance of the stern seat when deployed? I am attempting to fit a low profile cooler that would fit under the seat. Any ideas?
If you want it to slide all the way in you only have 9 1/2”. But if it only slides in 13” you have 10 3/4”.

Thanks Kwik. Where are you inserting the ensign mast? In the socket where the stern light goes?
I'm pulling a no-no on this. I am actually wire-tied to the stern light mast. We just take it down while underway. There are plans to buy and install a drill/socket mast mount maybe this year.

Hello all. So, amidst this Covid-19 fiasco, boating season will soon be upon us and I am not sure my Pacific Northwest SR Dealer who winterized my boat will be open to de-winterized my SR Dancer 240. It’s on the hard at my club. What are the steps to de-winterized my boat myself?

This would be my first year to de-winterize. But, mine is already paid for with the winterize and storage. Mine is also in a warehouse jammed in the back. So, I am at the will of the Marina. Our last boat was an outboard. So, it was easy.

Anyone have a source for the stock swim platform ladder for a 2000 240DA? Someone hit mine when it was down and so now it’s got a good bend in it. Would rather replace it at this point.

I replaced the walk through window on my 2008 240 Dancer. Now when it's open, it slides up and down freely in the hinge. Apparently there is a part that goes inside the hinge to secure the window and stop it from doing this. Does anyone know what that part is called and where I can buy one? Thanks!

I'm still wrapped but I believe mine slides up the hing freely?

Mine is a 2004. Almost certain mine is steady in place. Was on it all weekend. But, it is put up until Sunday, at best. I will try to remember to investigate when I get back to her.

Installed. Works like a charm!

New 240 DA owner here! Picked up a gently enjoyed 2007 with 224 hours on her. She’s in amazing shape and the price was right. Last weekend was our first full outing with her, and the whole family loves this boat. Looking forward to many more seasons and have already learned a bunch about this specific boat in this thread! Lots of great info!

Thought I’d share a pic of her and the design I created for her name. 01F007D4-F99A-425D-B77A-65577144D519.jpegEF6BFC18-0547-4817-AD2B-074B5E4DE624.jpeg

Welcome to the group. There isnt a lot of activity on this page. But, there is a lot of information. I monitor it for new activity. I'm only a year into my 240. But if I can help, I will.

Thanks much, and also much appreciated! I noticed that posts come in drips and drabs, but that’s ok. I’ll do my best to help and support too. I’m new to Sea Ray and the 240, but definitely not new to boats. My oldest boy started working for a local dealership here in service. Though there is no local Sea Ray dealer in my area as Marine Max closed their location last year.

I am pretty sure there is still a Marine Max at LOTO. It may be a trip for you. But, it is an option. Our Sea Ray dealer doesn't have a Sea Ray on the floor. But, I am able to get parts. This boating thing is fickle.

So, my bow running light(s) likely needs a new bulb. Do I just unscrew the red/green cover and find a new bulb at West Marine? Are there more modern, brighter led bulbs available for my 2008 240 Dancer?

My bulb would burn out often so I bought this light. No more bulb issues. A 2 mile light is required for your size boat. You can’t legally put an led bulb in your existing light.

I replaced my bow light bulb with an LED. This turned the green starboard blue because the color of the LED is a whiter. I placed a butterscotch candy wrapper inside the lens to get it back to green. I only boat on small inland lakes and rarely am underway in the dark. Doubt I will ever have an issue. If I ever get stopped on LOTO for it, I will update.

The fixture maggieiscrazy posted should be a direct replacement. No need to redrill mounting or wire path. If you aren't cool with Amazon, you buy that light from Westmarine or a couple other online stores.
