Official 240 Sundancer Thread

Congrats on the new boat! Those are about the same speed/rpm range that we get in ours.

As far as the camper top, we ordered the kit from Great Lakes and it came with the Bimini structure as well as all of the camper canvas. It wasn't cheap, but well worth the cost. It was the first upgrade we did on ours.

I really don't think it is possible to boat in south Florida without some sort of bimini top or something to shield the sun off you partially. We just went to Marathon Key a couple weeks ago with ours and I'm SO Happy we had a full bimini!

Congratulations on your beautiful new boat! Looks fantastic! I'm from Chicago originally (go Blackhawks!) Those trim tabs do just require a quick touch but they are so nice for keeping you running level. We only have a hatch air conditioner on our 2000 240DA and it cannot keep up during the day with the heat down here in south Georgia and forget about it down in the keys until after the sun has gone down. Then it can get it down to around 70 degrees. We would love to have a built in air system that really keeps it cool down below. I'm guessing these only work when at shore power or do these built in systems also work when underway? What brand should I be looking at?

Water pressure issue or is this normal? Faucet will have good pressure for about 2 seconds then you have to shut off for it to rebuild pressure same with the shower hose in swim platform. Is there a pressure tank like on a well that may need to be changed or pumped up?

Thank you, and go Hawks. Nothing better than the nation anthem at a Hawks games

Yes, my a/c only works on shore power.

No pressure tank. Just pump, solenoid, sensor. I'd bet on the pump. You should be able to hear the pump kick on as you open the faucet. Should run til it builds pressure and then shut off.

It does but the pressure only last for 2 seconds and then becomes a dribble until I shut faucet off to rebuild pressure and then repeat. So solenoid and pump work. Will have to check if there is a valve possible just cracked open on valve verse full open
Hmm
Could pump be bad to where if there is a load that it can not keep up?

There may be screens behind the knob valves that need cleaning. Unless this happens at every faucet then I would check the screen at the pump

Checked faucet screens, need to bring tools with me to the boat next time. I did notice what looked to be a filter before the pump.

Second weekend with boat and now the tach is all over the place. I knew the speedo didn't work but as long as tach worked I would be good but not anymore. Any solutions or ideas?

Sorry for all the questions, I am very handy (plumber) but some of this stuff I can not find in any of the manuals I got with the boat.
1- there is roughly a 8" table leg. Why and where for? I used that legs so my 18 month old could sit on floor and eat.

2- there is a fold in half vinyl seat that has a flap with two buttons that was stored in cuddy. Where does it snap to? Pic please

3-a/c pan filled up and noticed by my carpet being wet. I have shop vac at slip and cleaned it up and noticed the front side of coil was caked with 1/4" if dust. I cleaned off and hoping that was the reason for the heavy condensation found no drain in the pan that I could feel. Is there something else I should do ? A/c is in cuddy under front cushion.
I would like to leave a/c or at least fan on when not there to keep and odor mildew from wet kids in cuddy, but worried I may come back to a soaked carpet after a week.

4-21 pitch ss prop Good bad nah?

5 99-96 where do you hide rear anchor or it that overkill?

I picked up a 700 watt $40 micro from Best Buy, anyway to run that off battery while out and about?

Have read through about 80 pages on this thread. Pretty informative.

Assume still plenty, but maybe dreaming of upgrade ;-) Not familiar with 99, so unable to answer...

#1,2 and 4...No answer
#3, On my 07, the A/C pan is plumed with a hose to the shower sump pump under the step to exit the berth. I did have an issue with my shower / AC sump pump and am considering replacing the pump itself as I think the float may be sticking on mine. If you do not have your AC pan plumed to a pump, I would suggest doing that.
#5, I anchor close to the shore at the beach and always use 2 anchors. one out front and the other off the back that I pull onto the shore. I keep my rear anchor attached to the rear cleat and keep the anchor part in a rear hatch that the shore power and water connections are housed. If you will be using the rear anchor, I suggest keeping it easily accessible.
#6, The microwave in my boat is a 550 watt I believe and it runs off of 2 4D batteries that I charge up before the weekend starts and they work just fine. Not sure about using the house batteries though. The switch panel inside the cabin allows me to turn off and on the equipment I want to use of the inverter connected to the 4D batteries.
