Hello all,

I have looked through the forums and have yet to find the "official 220 Signature Select Thread". So.... Here it is.

Anyone else out there have one of these?

This is really good news as we now know the others on here that we can ask / discuss issues with.

So, if I may be the first.... what is your best cruising speed? and what are your locations?

Maybe a rookie questions but I'm not sure if ours is a "signature" or "signature select"....how can you tell?

I have a 2003 220. Not sure if it is a select. Love the boat. I agree with campingdad about the ski locker drain. Never seems to drain. Not much of a complaint but nevertheless that is my only complaint. I had in out in 3' to 4' waves last summer and it had no issues. The 5.0 engine has plenty of power and good on fuel. It's hard to beat the fit and finish of a SeaRay. I have been aboard several other brands and it's hard to beat.
Once again
Love the boat

See you on the lake dwayne26, should be putting it in the water within the next few weeks.

Okay, I understand that the Gold Emblem is the identifying mark for the Sig Select, but can someone tell me what the big difference is or is it simple like better options.

Can someone elaborate on the ski locker drain issue? I had an inch or two of water in this area when I first bought my boat. I could see what looked like a drain at the aft end of the ski locker. I vacuumed it out with a shop vac and then crawled into the locker to see if I could figure out why it wouldn't drain. After poking around and experimenting with trying to flush it out with a garden hose, I've come to the conclusion it's not a drain - at least it does not seem to be connected to the bilge area. I wasn't sure if the previous owner might have added it, thinking it would drain to the bilge. Is this a standard feature on other 220s? Could it be a vent for the area below the locker to let any moisture in the hull out?

If it is a vent, I'm not sure I want water accumulating there, it could get missed for winterization. I'm thinking of gluing in a short 3-4" piece of pvc pipe as a "vent stack" that would stop water from draining in but let the area breathe. If I do get water in the locker the stack will stop it from entering the "drain hole".

The hole drains into the engine compartment.Take a garden hose with a nozzle and spray into the hole. It is plugged with crap. Had the same issue.

Thanks dwayne26. I tried flushing with a garden hose already, plus poked around with a coat hanger to see if could loosen stuff up. I wasn't successful. But maybe I should try back-flushing from the engine compartment and see if anything comes up that way. Thanks for the suggestion!

I had also written to Sea Ray asking about it. Here's what they said: "there is a hole for drainage in the aft Bulkhead to allow water to drain in to the bilge. This hole has a PVC pipe in it so water should not be able to get in to the Bulkhead that is made of wood. It sounds like this hole must have got clogged up. I would suggest to get something to try and unplug it."

Back to crawling into the ski locker with my coat hanger!
