Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

I’m heading over to Tobay later tonight around 930 or so. Hopefully weather is good, was in watch hill last weekend for all the rain, kind of a bummer

Wow that sounds awesome, would love to do the axiom with radar. Maybe even an autopilot would really be nice for me. What u think my cost would be for all that?

PM me your info and I can show you my setup if interested. I might be stuck at dock or limited to day trips because of schedules this weekend.

Most likely no TOBAY this weekend - maybe run out on the center console. We were out at WH two weeks ago and the Mosquitoes were crazier than ever. Probably because of all the rain this year.

I have a sensor there so I’ll see if it’s the one. That would really make the job a lot easier

Took a look over the weekend and mine looks like it's at the pump. My 340SDA is a 2004.

yea kev i had bug issues last weekend at watch, i replaced the sensor on oil cooler on mine friday night. easiest job ive ever done. and now im all good to go. tobay was nice this weekend, ill be down again for the holiday weekend coming up. prob pull in sat morning.

So I’ve been noticing that I’m getting what appears to be a stained water mark on my front left speaker grill inside the boat. The mark is kind of horizontal but it is a little higher in the front and runs a little lower towards the back of the speaker cover. I’m assuming I have to pull all of this apart to see what’s behind it, and then maybe spray the area with a hose and see what happens. Any ideas on how to gently remove all this stuff up there?

Mprod, I see you have double clamped the pressure side hose on your raw water pump. Has it always been like this or something you have done? I only ask as mine are only single clamped.

Juggernaut, it’s always been like that so far as I know ..at least since I owned the boat. All the hoses throughout seem to be double clamped on both engines.

Edit: not all hoses, but many.

Good afternoon new CSR friends. I'm new to the forum and my '06 340 DA. My family and I spent our first day and overnight on it last weekend and it was really great.

The first issue I've encountered is that the bottom step in the cabin has a little movement to it. I crawled under and found that the weld is cracked! I'm sure that this is a defect but unfortunately it's long out of warranty. Has anyone encountered this? is is common? If so, what was your solution to get it fixed? I'd really appreciate any info or advice.

Somebody REALLY heavy must have been doing jumping jacks on that bottom step!
Anything other than a reweld is likely to fail in the future.

Welcome aboard! Sorry to hear about your stair problem - too bad it was not caught in your survey. I would get a quality welder involved as it looks like the material failed - not the original weld. Hopefully it will be just a welding needed to reattach.

Thanks Gerry. Was hoping to learn that it’s some kind of known problem or recall.

Hey, small world. I actually grew up in Linwood and our family business in the 70s and 80s was in Somers Point on Mays Landing Rd!

Does anyone know about the engine hatch? I have a friend checking for me. I need to remove an engine in the spring. I see it has pins in the 2 rams. Can I pull the pins and stand it up on end and support/strap it in place? Not sure about the weight on the 2 hinges. Thanks

Anyone know where I can get a replacement coffee pot for a 2006 340 sundancer?
I am replacing my combo unit this winter. My carafe is still intact but the handle has
been epoxied twice. My coffee unit leaks but the glass is perfect no cracks.

any offers, I will get pictures

Hi freinds. My 340DA has some kind of check valve inline on the aft bilge pump. It seems to restrict flow and sometimes prevents anything from coming out unless I cycle the pump. Is it really necessary to have? Does it look like it's original equipment? seems like it's more hassle than it's worth. Curious to know your thoughts, thanks.

Hi all
Can anyone advise on what size Duckbill valves we have on our Vacu Flush system. Thanks

I don’t have those on mine either (just. Looked today and sorry for the delayed response). Looks like someone added aftermarket.

Maybe not aftermarket. I think I have one of those on my 2004. Just noticed it climbing around this weekend.

It is part number 600347802 - 1.5 inch. Available online, just google duckbill 600347802. You will need 4 of them to replace them all. West Marine has them in sets of 2.
