Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

Greetings all.

My head shower sprayer was clogged and I descaled it, after that cold water flow is good but not the hot. There is no crack and dripping of the hold and cold water manifolds/pipes/fittings and water heater connections.
Is it same of your's or should I also descale the hot water manifold and or the water heater ?

Also the water pressure from the city water inlet/regulator is lower than the onboard water pump whereas my dock water pressure is 20 liters/minute while onboard water pump gives 10.6 liters/minute but the water is not flowing 20liters/minute from the faucets via city water inlet. So is the regulator shot ?

And any 2007 340DA owners find the same shower sprayer/handle which I'd like to replace it due to the momentary on/off on the handle is broken.

TIA

This fixed my hot water flow problem.

Thanks Tim.
But the inside of my faucet's hot water knob is different from your's even mine is 2007.

So should I go on and uninstall the yellow part to reach the filter/screen ?

So I uninstalled the city water inlet regulator to check again and had the same water flow of dock water hose while the regulator is out of the boat as same as 20 liters/minute, but when I put it again into it's place there was only aft locker washdown faucet was giving same or more than water flow of on board water pump and the cabin faucets was low again.

Do I have some build up/blockage somewhere at the path of city water inlet or it's gone and I need a new regulator ?

TIA.

I replaced my galley faucet with a pull out. Looks and works great. Bonus was that the filter is in the hose to the spray head. Pull out, twist off clean screen with hose and screw head back on.

I'd like to see it to, altough I don't have problem with my galley faucet water flow and it has the filter just at the mouth of the faucet.

I picked up this one on Amazon. I have to admit that someone else on CSR recommended it so I gave it a try (at the price I figured I could not go wrong). My old faucet worked fine but my wife was the motivation for the new one (she hated the original one). The install was very easy although getting the old one out was a struggle. Looked like someone overdid it with the power tools when it was installed and bent the back plate and studs.

Now I have a bigger project brewing. I was going to replace the faucet in the head with a new one with a separate shower head. Before Labor Day my wife complained the drain was leaking so I was going to repack it with plumbers putty to seal. Hmm... found our my plastic sink was cracked at the basket flange and this is far from a common size. :(

Same happened to my cockpit/wet bar sink.
I was curing it for 2 years buy "dyson" sealant but now the crack is big and I have to fix it by glassing or any better recommendations if you have.

Very nice faucet and installation.
Just curious why do you need pull out sprayer in galley ?

...any better recommendations if you have.

I have been researching my plan to replace both sinks in the head and the cockpit to see if it is economical. The idea is to replace both with standard sizes stainless sinks accomplished by adding a Corian (or similar) layer on top of the current fiberglass. This would accomplish two things 1) it allows me to install whatever sink would like and 2) will give some very needed contrast color to the head (which on the 2004 is severely mono-tone).

My plan for the cockpit is a bit more complex as it again involves adding a Corian type surface and relocating the sink and faucet to off center (as well as making it an under mount sink hopefully with a flush insert). The cockpit sink area is a wonder serving station however the factory sink and placement makes it almost complete unusable to server food/drinks. I also would like to have a new matching table fabricated to replace my current one which is severely warped. This will again add some contrasting color to a mono-tone cockpit.

I have to talk to some fabricators to get a handle on costs but it all seems doable - at least in my head. If I move ahead I will start a project thread to report back.

Not really needed just handy sometimes. I like it to use it to clean out the sink (makes getting to the sides easier) and have even used it to clean out the garbage pail when the liner bag broke with coffee grinds. A quick spray and then dumped down the sink. I also like the fact that is has the regular flow setting and a spray setting.

The screen that I mentioned is also at the end of the hose when you unscrew the spray head pictured - that was my unintended bonus as I was always unscrewing the aerator on the old to clean it out.

One last note: Remember the main reason for the swap was my wife hated the original one - I think she just preferred the single arm flow control for hot/cold.

got it thanks.

There are four bolts holding the black cover on. I believe they are somewhere around 1/2" - 9/16" heads. Once that is off, there is a flame arrestor held on by 3 flat head screws.
I finally got this carb out and apart. I had to move the water tank over a few inches and push back the insulation but that did the trick. The flame arrestor is in a black case which had a filter of some sort that was completely disintegrated. I can't find that filter anywhere. Do you know what it's called or where I can find one?

Any of our South Florida members know of a good canvas shop? I need a new enclosure, carpets and maybe mattress. I saw American Marine in Miami but wanted to hear from members and their input. Thanks

If you are looking for new canvas fit like stock you can check out Great Lakes they are the OEM for Sea Ray. They can make them and all you need to do is install and add the snaps. They only offer them in original factory configurations and colors. Watch for their sales.
