Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

Re: Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundacer Thread

Alex, I believe the air sensor is the one under the throttles next to the 12v receptacle. The water sensors are on the engines I believe close to the water pump. I think it's that connector you unplug when changing your impellers.

On my boat the water temp is in with the dept sounder. Easy to check just unplug the depth sounder from harness and see what happens.

Anybody have any idea where the ambient temperature sensor(s) is? My air and water temperature are way off and I have an active alarm for the sensor.

My water temp (sea water, not engine) are also way off (like 145 degrees!) - not sure what causing it so I'm interested in how you solve yours. Pls post the solution if you figure it out.

Yeah I have the exact same thing going on. And an air temp of -10. Will post if I figure something out. Unfortunately that's going to be a couple of weeks.

I've been running my boat between 3200 to 3400 rpm's. that seems to be the best cruising mileage.

Re: Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundacer Thread

For those owners of the 2003.5 - 2008 styled 340's I'm wondering how you manage the bumpers on the aft cleats when underway. I only have about 6 - 8 " of line between the cleat and the top of the bumper (given that the aft cleat is so low down on the side) - removing them each time is awkward and I can just see the Admiral is going to end up going swimming one of these times (which will not be a good thing!). Wondering what other do ...

Re: Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundacer Thread

I have three dock wheels on my dock. Usually when I'm docked I put down the bumpers and before I go out I just tuck them up on the railing. It saves me the trouble keeping it on the aft cleat and having to take it on and off.

I just changed both my raw water pumps and the sensors where in the pumps. I put new ones in while I had the pumps out of the boat.

HAHA!! Now that's funny. One can spend a lot of time turning buttons on to try and find what they do...... Thanks Steve! Today I'll spend my time doing something else....

Mark, on my 340 those accy buttons power my gps, radar, and vhf. The other button is for a water system on other models.

+1on a good thread

Fuel Filters, Has anyone changed their OWN fuel filters? I'm 5'9 220, there's no way in hell i can get my big a$$ between the stringers let alone hang over the port motor and get a head rush.

If YOU have, was it really difficult? Tips? Tricks? Shortcuts?

Scott, I looked at the filters yesterday while piddling around going over my list of to dos. The fittings on the filters are fixed. Do the hoses have the other type fittings with some sort of swivel type connector?

BTW I said the SAME thing, Shame on you Sea Ray. Why couldn't they put those puppies on the bulkhead wall??:smt089

Ahhh, as I suspected. Thanks Scott.

Also should I turn the fuel flow OFF at the solenoid on top of the tank??

Re: Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundacer Thread

I replaced the lamps on my 340 with the following from Super Bright LEDs:

G4B-WWHP10-DAC Warm White for the small disk overhead lights throughout the cabin and bathroom

G4-WWHP15-TAC Warm White for the adjustable spot lights by the berth and in the mid stateroom

4210-BHP6 Blue for the cockpit and arch festoon lights

The warm white color is still very white compared to the original incandescent lamps that were originally installed. I tried a few cool white, but for me they were too cool of a color, much like fluorescent. I am very pleased with the lamps and the fact that they put out almost no heat. Current draw is next to nothing as well.

Good luck, they're easy to change out.

Martin

Thanks Martin!

Thanks Martin! I purchased a couple of the G4B-WWHP10-DAC to try them out ... I like them a lot better than what was in it originally. I'll change out the rest now. Did you change out the 120v bulbs in the cabin as well? If so, do you have what you replaced them with?
