Does anyone have any experience good or bad with the newer type bilge pumps that use integral water sensors verse traditional float switch? It's time for me to replace mine and think i might like to try the newer technology but thinking it may not be as trustworthy.

Hey everyone I have wet carpet in my aft cabin, all windows seem to not be leaking, any ideas? Fresh water tank 3/4 full, and we have had some pretty heavy rain recently
Reaching back into the past, did you ever locate the source of water intrusion? After a heavy rain we have wet carpet in the same place. Also the sump area aft of the shower sump box will be full of water.

Yes I figured it out. I had left the window in the bathroom open for ventilation. The moulded shower surround that makes up the bathroom was never sealed to the window so there was a gap between the wall and the window. It rained and water got in that gap and made it all the way down to that carpet in the aft. I keep the window closed and I also sealed the gap with silicone

I had it where the shower / AC sump pump was bad and the pump box over flowed

theres a guy online i found that restores old gauges and the lcd screens. my smartcraft screen is starting to go, and he says he has the upgrade to vesselview for 600$ plus 50$ for all the cables. does this sound right?

Thought I would post some pics of the new winter cover. Worked out really nice. Looking foward to pulling it off early April.

Can anyone verify which of the two transducers the Smartcraft reads the water temp from? According to the Airmar site both are capable of reading the temp. My speed works and my depth works but the water temp reads -401. I have the following currently in the boat

Depth
Airmar 44-031-3-01
Sea Ray 888828-1

Speed
Airmar 31-407-1-41
Sea Ray 883090

hey would love to know some details about your cover. That looks like a good investment and works great sitting in the water. I also leave my boat in during the winter but would love more protection from the elements when it doesn’t get much use.

thanks!

if you are talking about Gauge saver Eric is awesome, send my port gauge to him, it was fortunately a simple fix and he didn't even charge me. Would recommend him email unclebob@gaugesaver.com 904-701-9726

A friend had one of those winter covers on a 90’something 370 express , I haven’t been around that boat for years so not sure if it’s still holding up. I know his canvas cover came from
http://www.fishercanvas.com/index.asp
Watched him put it on and take off year after year for the 8 years I was at same Marina, never any issues in the New York winters.

All,

Yes it came from Fisher Canvas in NJ. Contact info below. I added some customizations so I would just give them a call for a quote. They were really easy to work with. I found comfort in that he had done 10+ covers for our era Sundancer and had the design on file. You will have to do a good job documenting where your dock lines cross the rub-rail so the rope exit pockets are in the right place. As you can see I am tied up on Starboard but had pockets added to Port incase I move slips. PM me if want a more in-depth conversation on the topic.

Could someone offer a quick tutorial on my 07's shore power? My 290 had a single plug 40A/120(?). I believe my 340 has two plugs but only came with a single cord. The previous owner seemed clueless, the surveyor's explanation was murky. I have spare cords from the 290, wonder if they'll work, if I need two, or a splitter or what...

You have 2 inputs for your shore power. #1 will.power most things and #2 will.power others. Yes,you need to cords. They are 30 amp service. On your electrical panel in the cabin, you will see how they are split. Make sure all of your high amp items, air conditioning, hot water heater, etc are turned off when plugging in or unplugging. Dont want that much of an amp draw on system. Best to turn things off, plug in, then power items back on. There are meters in your panel as well. Ma kg e sure you are not drawing more than 25 amps on each side. Do NOT use a splitter to power both inputs from cord. I have seen others do this and it will overload the system and end in disaster.

also i was looking at cockpit carpet on corinthia website and they have something new called aquafelt backing material. just wondering if anyone has any experience with this backing product. thanks so much
