Has anyone tried the voker vent filter for the holding tank? Has good reviews on amazon just wondering if anyone on here has experience with it

Are you talking about the one by the front bed or the one over the galley?

If the one over the galley pull the speaker and the port light ring and take a look. The headliner is simple plywood and is not protected from the elements since it is an internal structure. If there is a leak the wood will get wet and eventually rot even worse it could be dispersing water elsewhere.

My small round port light above the galley sink was leaking this weekend so I had to pull the port light ring and I had to rebed it this morning. Found it while I was washer her down and wife told me it was dripping. It was a small leak but I hope the seal cured in time for tonight's rain.

It was probably do to the excess heat on bearing down on the deck and then slamming her into a sandbar :( Not a good weekend ending for boating but the rest was great and BoatUS made out well. I heard of several boats getting grounded in the late afternoon low tide. At least I made it home with out needing a tow after getting off the grounding.

wow kevin that sucks man i just read this, must have missed it somehow, where did u run aground? im actually leaking water on the speaker cover all the way up front port side. i think its from the bow railing but not sure. dont even know how to pull it apart.

Got stuck on north side of state channel by Gilgo entrance coming back from Garbage Cove. It was a busy day for TowBoatUS. He got my friend off the ledge who got swamped on when he came over to me by a large wake. Then my boat and before I was done a Flybrige was up on the bar. Funny thing is your running in 20 ft and you move a little over it comes right up to 1-2 feet.

My fault but fortunately no damage other than the leaky seal around the glass. I resealed it the next day and all is good. As far as the running gear I have no vibrations or other issues so far and we're heading to WH this weekend. Tow Boat Captain said a lot of people run aground there and usually no problems. I am not looking forward to doing that again though.

BTW, Did you miss Christmas at Tobay - I didn't see your boat??

That sucks man but glad u made it out without any damage or injury. All these channels get so dicy when u come a little off them. It’s crazy. I’m always running right down the middle just to be safe. Yea we were there all weekend, my wife brought my older son up there while I was putting the younger one to bed. I’m always on b dock couple slips from the end. Watch hill is great we were there a couple weeks ago. Have fun! Hopefully no bugs. We are gonna do aquamarine sunset harbour in east Patchogue in umaugust for three days, then pull outta there and head east to Westhampton bath and tennis. Should be a really nice trip

I replaced mine(4) last year with JR Products GSNI-5000-20 Gas Spring bought from amazon (recommended from @saopm IIRC) whic has an Extended Length: 10"Compressed Length: 6.41"Force: 20 lbs. Equipped with EF-PS30 End Fittings.
HTH
i just got around to ordering this hopefully its the right part lol

My dock neighbor just finished having his boat hauled out and inspected after running aground at 24 mph. In Stuart, we have LOTS of sandbars and shoals and he found them. Luckily not damage or injuries except for his ego. He had just finished his captains course and was wearing his captain shirt. Moral of the story is it can happen to anyone.

Glad you’re ok Kevin. Boats are always replaceable.

Like Kevin said, there is a zipper at the top. You will be able to feel the bolts for the bow rail and wires for the nav light. I was able to tighten the bow rail bolts to stop a minor leak by the forward speaker. Good luck!
I would add be very careful with your zippers. As mine had a bit of water damage over time the zipper slider(not sure what its called) actually broke. I had to pull the zipper apart and now I’m going to had to have a new one put it. Not a biggie but certainly a pain.

V-berth light issue: This is my first season with the 340 and have a quick question about the reading lights in the v-berth. The lights appear to be wired with the overhead lights above the closet and above the portside step to the bed. They all turn off and on with the switch under the AC control panel. That seems strange that I cannot turn on and off the toggle reading lights without having the other lights on. This is not the case in the aft berth. Does anyone else have this issue and a remedy? Thank you.

I have the same problem and hate the fact that I can not just have the reading lights on. I was thinking about putting switches at each light or splitting the wiring and adding an additional switch. I pulled the lights and it looks like there is 3/8 plywood + padded vinyl and the switch I got was not deep enough. I will post back if I come up with anything.

The power must come from the switch or one of the two lights it controls and then supplies power forward to the reading lights. If the feed is at the switch it’s very easy to do but if it feeds off one of the fixtures then u would have to run a wire

So there is actually a thread about this somewhere. The power feeds for those lights are under the bed around the area of the ac unit. If I remember correctly, you can move the reading lights wires off the switch side to the hot side. They will then only work with the toggle switch on the lights.

Are you saying we can simply do this at the switch itself? If so that would be very cool.
